Dr. Rubin was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive. She wouldn’t do routine blood testing for me because I’m “young and healthy.” I really wish I hadn’t wasted my time. I’ll never go back.

Rushed & unhelpful
I understand primary care physicians have to see a lot of patients, but my visit with Dr. Rubin was extremely rushed and disappointing. She dismissed all of my concerns, declined to give me the blood testing I asked for, and told me I was totally fine. I really wish I would have gone elsewhere.

I'm sure Dr. Rubin has experience and education, but she made a point of insulting mine as a teacher. "Nothing against you but those type of schools..." and "When did you start working there? Mid-pandemic? They must have been desperate." This was added to with: "Nothing against the way you look, but your BMI...do you eat vegetables?" were the tip of the iceberg. I've never encountered a doctor who commented on my weight but did not ask whether it had recently changed; furthermore, if it is enough of a concern to bring up, surely we should do blood work. My previous blood work was three years prior. But then again, who cares about a person like me, who teaches at schools she does not like? I'd only waited months for the first available appointment, and then a full hour past the appointment time. I will not be going back, and I think others should know that these are the kinds of comments they could encounter.
