Dr. Susan Unfer, MD

Wonderful doctor!!!

My story with (dr.Susan m unfer) is too long and about my son personal life. Just wondering how would a well stand (Lutheran )hospital would hire a dr who need a therapist for behavioral issues!! I will never come back just because of her!! I don’t feel safe and comfortable.

Speaks to you as you are beneath her and an idiot. Does not listen or offer alternatives. Will not return to her

Dr Unfer has been our pediatrician for five of my children for ~14 years. She is knowledgeable and competent. I have two main issues with her. First, you can hardly ever get an appointment with her. You have to book months out, so you usually see an attending doctor instead. If you request a call from her, you wont get one. Second, her front office staff are just plain rude. The receptionist thinks she is a doctor and will screen issues that a doctor should be judging. I would recommend selecting another practice if you are searching for a pediatrician. Dr Unfer is just too busy to spend time with you.

My brother and I used to see Dr. Unfer basically our entire childhood and he's never had a problem with her I don't think but for some reason she was always really rude to me and it's stuck with me to this day. She would scream at me and call me stupid for my eating habits which weren't perfect as every child's eating habits are, and would berate me and belittle me, again as a CHILD. When I was first experiencing Crohn's symptoms she also dismissed it and acted like it was again just a symptom of my (normal) eating habits when it was ultimately diagnosed with a severe case of Crohn's disease! That's also not the first time in all these years with her that I have ended up in the hospital after coming to her with symptoms first that she dismissed only for a different doctor to tell me I needed to be admitted.

We are very pleased to have Dr. Unfer as pediatrician for our first child. She took good care to examine him thoroughly on our first visit and explain his progress. She also relieved our concerns by explaining the child's behavior and biology in simple terms that we were able to understand. She demonstrates good compassion and makes us comfortable with asking any questions. We didn't feel rushed at all. Front desk was very clean and seemed organized. Support staff are professional and courteous

We LOVE Dr. Unfer! Being first time parents, we still have things to learn, but if we're heading in the wrong direction, Dr. Unfer will let us know. She's direct, yet assuring, and very knowledgeable. We're very lucky to have her as our child's doctor.
