Dr. Susanna Shermer, MD

Dr. Shermer is an excellent physician and responds to anything that I might need through her wonderful staff and personally. I feel that she knows me and cares about my health. I definitely appreciate her in every way! She is the best doctor I have had the pleasure of working with on my health. Each 6 months we talk about what I need to do to stay healthy and improving my health. She goes far above what you would ever expect from most doctors. Every doctor she has sent me to are good quality as well. Maryanne, her medical assistant, is also awesome, knowledgeable and personable! She has been with Dr. Shermer for a long time which speaks volumes. Dr. Shermer makes sure I get in for regular visits, my flue vaccine and frequently goes over meds and adjusts them. Dr Shermer is a 10 on a scale of 5. I truly love and respect this doctor and pray she is my physician until I die.

I transferred to Dr. Shermer because my previous PCP left Chi St. Vincent. Took a leap of faith & made appt. Oh my, initial visit was great in all aspects. Got sick, visit & follow up were good. She understood my issues & covered all bases. The front desk, her nurse, the lab tech are great. Good for me to be at that clinic!!!!

Dr. Shermer is one of the most compassionate physicians I have ever seen. I was having chest pain and she worked me into the clinic. She ran the necessary tests to rule out a heart attack and then spent 30 minutes talking to me about how to remove the stress in my life. She is the best.

Dr. Shermer is to patient care what Burger King is to fine dining. She gives little attention to her patients and rushes them out of the door as quickly as she can. Her ability to listen is almost non-existent. During my almost year under her care never did she spend more than five minutes in the room with me. I felt like she was more concerned with turning the room around than she was actually treating my needs. I stayed with her because my insurance had Chi St. Vincent in their network.

Have been with her over a year and can't wait to leave ... my sons toe was infected and rather than just tell me go to a specialist she had us come in so she could hit my ins. And then send me to a specialist.... then I needed a refill on a script I've had for 20 years and she wants me to get blood test , she knows nothing's changed just a way to hammer my insurance .... stay away !!!! You've been warned !!! And her nurse has to be the snippest person you've ever met

Dr. Shermer seemed genuinely concerned about me and establishing a relationship. She was fast, efficient, and very kind.

Susanna has been my pcp for 16 years, struggling to keep m cholesterol in check and maintaining my mental health with prozac. Also treats my fascia disease with muscle relaxers and watches my health every quarter. If you need her for an extended appt. all you have to do is ask. Friendly, concerned, intelligent physician who cares about her patients.

I want to be with a doctor that truly takes my well being into consideration. I was told by Dr Shermer that she had already spent 15 min with me that she needed to move on. I explained to her that she probably wasn't the Dr for me if I wasn't going to get the care that I needed from her. She was put out with my comment, but I have yet been able to feel like my needs are being met with this Doctor, and now just after 2 visits looking for another PCP.

Dr. Shermer treated me with kindness and respect. As a chubby runner with a foot issue, I had expected disbelief if not derision when seeking treatment for foot pain. Instead she believed I actually run miles each week and helped me get treatment for my plantar fasciitis so I could start running again without pain. Her professionalism and understanding were fantastic. I'm so glad I stumbled (no pun intended) onto her!

Excellent physician, very thorough, and timely. By the time I got checked in the nurse was calling me back before I could even take a seat in the waiting area. Follow-up was the next day. The nurse called with lab results, medication changes, with prescriptions already called to pharmacy and ready for pickup. I highly recommend Dr Shermer and her professional capable staff.
