Best Neurosurgeon in Alaska
I am very greatful to Dr. FIX for listening and removing my brain tumor. She did a revision due to spitting stitches and hardware pain. All hardware was removed as bones had fused. Second Tumor was radiated as my skull skin is thin so another craniotomy was not recommended. Love her and her office. They are awesome , professional and kind

Dr.Fix and Dr.Paulson put my mom through multiple surgeries made by their uncarefullness and mistakes. They didn’t own up to what they did and she has permanent and severe eye damage she lost most of her vision in one eye and forgot to administer iv medication DURING surgery. She was put through brain surgery with no pain meds but anesthesia. Terrible doctor and has made permanent damage to me and my family. Choose a different doctor

I had surgery early in March 2020 and it was to trim the disc pinching my sciatic nerve. It is now 11 months later and I'm still in a lot of pain. and cannot walk. Is it possible the sciatic nerve is still pinched? It sure feels that way. I'm sorry to write this but I need help.

Sorry for your daughter, but I bet there are two sides to this story. Dr Fix doesn’t need to defend herself. Being a patient of hers, her skills and expertise talks for itself. My husband is still alive because of Dr Fix and I would recommend her (and do) to all our family and friends. On another note, I sincerely hope you found the right doctor for your daughter. I saw Dr. Fix yesterday, this was my first appointment with her. I am very impressed with her bedside manner, her knowledge and thoroughness in my exam. I will be having surgery with Dr. Fix in the next few weeks. Although surgery is always a scary thing to go through, I feel blessed, and have the utmost confidence in this doctor, even after meeting her just once! Thank you Dr. Fix, for being so incredibly compassionate and listening to me, the patient, and most of all for offering your help in getting my life back! A life free of low back and leg pain! I would recommend this doctor any and all, friends, family or strangers. The front desk girl, Fia, has been a blessing in the weeks before my surgery. She called weekly, to see if my MRI had been done and ready to schedule me as soon as it was done. When I walked into the office to check in, she reached through the window and shook my hand, and said “ Hello, I’m Fia, it’s nice to finally meet you”. Such a nice way to be greet

I started seeing Dr. Fix in Nov. '17 after 20+ years of chronic back pain. Our first meeting was rushed but pleasant. My second appointment showed me a caring person with only my best interests in mind. We discussed surgery, but she guided me to my own physical therapist for treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Fix as my pain is reduced enough to workout. Her staff is excellent and there was no problem with me using the medical services near my home. And with little pain. I am happy and busy again.

Dr. Fix changed and saved my life! I was suffering from debilitating, nerve and lumbar pain; the kind of pain that affects every aspect of your life. She performed a two-level fusion and laminectomy that has completely eliminated the pain that was consuming me. I am so grateful for the outstanding care from her and Candice. I believe they are the best neurosurgery team in the great state of Alaska, and I am so thankful that I went to her.

I had three spinal surgeries by Dr. Susanne Fix and it was the absolute worst decision of my life. I ended up going back and forth from Wasilla for 15 months for an incision that wouldn't heal and was never told of the "wound clinic" I ended up being septic and diagnosed with MRSA. I survived that and a blood clot from a PICC line that was used for the life saving antibiotics. After six months of treatment I had a 12 hour revision surgery to remote hardware and stabilize spinexpensive.

Took my daughter to Dr Fix in July 2015. She was 7. I needed a new doctor in AK. After an hour with dr Fix she said my daughter needs an MRI. Also an X-ray. I said I was invented the MRI would set her shunt to zero. She said it was necessary. She called me once. I set up the MRI and was never called back and never heard another word. I paid over $300 for that initial 1hr talk. Nothing was done and I called twice to get MRI with no one getting back to me. I will Never go back!

After consulting with countless Neurosurgeons in the NW and having my neck fused twice before, Dr Fix and staff were a godsend. I so wish I would have come across her before visiting so many others that just treated you as a file and a dollar sign . I remember one of her first statements to me was I treat the patient not the X-ray Her entire staff is fantastic and Candace goes above and beyond what I have experienced in the past at other clinics. Alaska is lucky to have her .

I have undergone 2 spinal surgeries with Dr. Fix with several more to come. Both went very well. Post op care was excellent. When I called the office I had all calls returned in a timely manner, staff was well informed of my status, my pain was recognized and dealt with immediately, she visited me in the hospital daily.1 surgery was urgent so Dr. Fix interrupted her home holiday to do the procedure. When complications arose Dr. Fix handled my care herself. She is not offended by 2nd opinions.
