He came across very sardonic and uncaring when I first met him, but it was to be for a simple procedure and I wouldn't have to see him again so, I agreed. Worse mistake ever. On operation day when I mentioned I was a little worried and confused why he was asking what operation he was doing on me, he became immediately irritated and in a low voice berated me and asking if I've ever had a procedure before in my life. He needs to confirm the procedure! I'm 38 and have 3 past procedures documented in my chart. No doctor has ever confirmed an operation by asking what operation they're supposed to be doing. They clearly state the operation and ask if I agree that that is what we're doing today. Then marker it up. They don't act clueless to why they are there. During the operation, Versed was supposed to be my sedative. It didn't work after MANY doses. I told him repeatedly it wasn't working. I was completely terrified as he ignored me and my cries of pain, completing the procedure anyway.

I had a great experience . Dr. Gonchikar put me at ease before and after procedure. Dr. and nurses were very professional and cordial.

I don’t understand how this doctor gets 5 star ratings my experience was totally the opposite he spent 5 minutes with me on my first visit he stated “I know what the problem is” I asked “what’s the problem?”his answer was you need an mri which I did have on the second visit he stated the mri was fine and you don’t need surgery he didn’t even show me the mri he said the only thing I can do for you is give you an injection so I scheduled the injection upon entering the room where injections are done he asked me so which side of your back hurts more left side or right then comes the attitude starts “70/30 80/20 or what? He did the procedure which went well the problem with him he assumes what’s wrong before having an Imaging for verification He didn’t communicate with me the injection lasted a few hours than the pain returned it got so bad I called back in to orthocarolina and asked to see another doctor this dr is a well respected surgeon he put the mri up and he said you need surgery!
