Dr. Syeda Khan, MD

Dr. Syeda Khan is the most careless and negligent doctor I have ever visited in my life. I saw her 3 times, which was 3 too many. I will not return to her nor recommend her. Her bedside manner is unfriendly, judgmental and careless. She doesn’t seem to listen or show interest in my well being. She didn’t remember anything about me, despite seeing me several times and kept bringing up ailments I didn’t have, which leads me to believe she didn’t read my medical history prior to seeing me and I had to repeat myself multiple times throughout my appointments. She is quick to prescribe heavy, addictive, unnecessary drugs. Some of which had nothing to do with the issues of complaint. She is quick to send you to her husband (a Cardiologist with Piedmont) for anything she can. I complained of slight upper abdomen pain (she was well aware and I reminded her that I recently had an EKG and echo test done, and told her they both came back normal). She referred me to her husband for those exact tests and a nuclear stress test anyway. Completely didn’t listen to me and very unnecessary to expose me to excess radiation with an expensive test. She also sent me to a CT scan with her husband. I called his office to schedule and they said they don’t even perform those scans at his office. I finally went to a different physician because I was tired of her negligence and being misguided. The new physician scheduled me for an upper abdomen ultrasound right away and they found a nodule on a major organ. I sought further testing right away and the new physician helped me take all the right tests and follow up appointments to take care of what was found. Dr. Khan’s carelessness delayed me in identifying the potential issue and results for months because I was taking tests and drugs that had nothing to do with my complaints. She lost my trust and I’m lucky nothing too serious happened as a result of her negligence. She also does not perform thorough wellness checks either. Never checked my lungs, heart, throat or ears at my second wellness exam with her. She charged me for two appointments even though she did not spend extra time with me, because I discussed more than one issue with her at a wellness exam. I was only told after the fact when I was getting double charged. She prescribed Promethazine, which is a dangerous drug, for a mild stomach ache. She scheduled me for a Pap Smear, which I had to wait months for and the day before the appointment, her office called to tell me she didn’t follow protocol in scheduling me for that because they no longer perform just Paps.’ Her mistake delayed me months in getting my women’s health exam. Dr. Syeda Khan’s overall inability to show care and consideration for my wellbeing and health; her negligence and ordering of unnecessary drugs and pricey tests; her lack of care to get to know me and passing judgement when I complained about “too many things;” her always finding a way to refer me to her husband’s office for no reason - all of this led me to lose confidence in her as a doctor and not trust her enough to ever go back to her. I just can’t believe it took me several appointments and mistakes to realize I needed a different doctor. My new physician is so much better. Takes the same amount of time she did, but didn’t double charge me and asked all the right questions, ordered all the correct tests and didn’t prescribe me anything unnecessary, but rather helped me find solutions without any drugs. My new physician really took the time to get to know my ailments and expressed care to want to help me. That is why I will NOT recommend Dr. Syeda Khan. She will hurt somebody seriously one day with her negligence and lack of care for her patients.

I will not return to see Dr. Kahn or any physician at Peachtree Medical. Dr. Kahn performed the least thorough wellness visit of my life. She didn't even check my ears, neck, mouth...My last Physician did a breast exam and checked literally every other part of my body. Dr. Kahn also did not listen to me. I told her 3x that I lost 70lbs, on a Mediterranean diet. She asked me 3x if I had taken medication to lose weight. It was very obvious that she simply doesn't care. When my very limited bloodwork came back, my cholesterol was high. This was a surprise to me as I had completely changed my lifestyle and lost a great deal of weight, over 11 months. Over a message, Dr. Kahn informed me that I need to go on a Mediterranean Diet. When I reminded her about my diet she offered statin... I switched physicians and my new, more thorough Dr. asked me specifics about my food choices and said that dieting may also elevate chol.temporarily. Dr. S Kahn is going to hurt someone with her negligence.
