Dr. Sylvester Youlo, MD

After dislocating my right knee, I had a follow up with Dr. Youlo. He ordered an MRI. I was left in a straight leg brace for over 6 weeks. He referred me MCU for surgery. My new DR pushed surgery for 2 weeks because I had very little ROM. Dr. Youlo did not send my MRI with my referral either. Definitely will not see him again.

Dr. Youlo listened to all my concerns regarding the pain in my left hip/leg. He took his time, explaining everything as he went. He pinpointed my issue and I received a steroid injection. His injection was practically pain free (very tolerable). I highly recommend Dr. Youlo.The office staff and medical staff were all friendly and professional.

Would not allow me to finish a sentence without interrupting and trying to make me sound foolish of my medical history. By far the worst experience with a professional healthcare provider.

Dr. Youlo was very thorough in listening to my concerns and explaining everything to my husband and I. Would recommend him with 5 stars. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. Thank you all. Barbara Evans.

This guy is really bad news. Please consider another doctor for you needs. He squeezed on my injured ankle way too hard causing a great deal of pain during our 5 minute visit. Had a bad attitude when I needed clarification on some issues after the appointment. I got the feeling that he thinks he’s too important or busy to spend adequate time with each of his patients.

He walked in closed the door, stated, Injection didn't work so you need a FULL SHOULDER REPLACEMENT! That wasn't the issue I was there for, I had sent an E-Mail with what had happened and needed to find out why I had all of a sudden lost use of shoulder. Luckly I had gone to Waynesville Immediate Care and was provided Oral Steroid. I asked him about doing an MRI that had always been done prior to any of my Joint, Back Surgeries. NO, Your Shoulder is full of Arthritis and Replacement is the answer. I'll send her in to schedule, you have to have someone at home to care for you or you'll have to go to a facility. Not what I have ever experienced from a Phelps Provider!! I'll be seeking a professional opinion from another Orthopedic Surgeon but I believe it will have to be with a different facility, but I will be doing further research on Surgeons.

He blamed me for giving myself MRSA. HE KNOWS I CONTRACTED IT IN THE HOSPITAL. He screwed up my frontal hip replacement and did a revision two weeks later. He still messed it up. Another doctor did a revision and got it right. HE LIED ON MY FILE TO THE FULLEST. Check your patient records periodically. THAT IS WHY HE LEFT AND IS NOW IN MISSOURI. HE IS A SLICK TALKING CON MAN.

Dr. Youlo listen and understood my pain. He is respectful and wants to help the elderly. I will tell my family and friends.
