Very satisfied
Had a couple of resident Drs with him at the initial visit. Answered every concern and is pleasant. No issues after surgery 2 years later.

Canceled surgery last minute
Dr. Long canceled my brother's surgery last minute for a 'family emergency'. I found out through a friend that works at Giesinger that he really went on a european vacation. My brother was nervous for weeks leading up to the surgery date and then it gets cancelled last minute. Now he has to go through that all over again. I scheduled off work for a few days so I could help him around the house, so I used vacation days that I didn't need to. I don't know why they wouldn't have rescheduled the surgery farther in advance, but obviously neither Giesinger nor Dr. Long care about inconveniencing their patients.

This guy is AWESOME
Due to fear, I postponed a surgery for 7 years and tolerated the effects of my decision until those effects became somewhat intolerable. I chose Dr. Long because he performed a surgery on my husband years ago which was a success. I remembered how great he was in pre-op meetings back then. From the moment that you meet him, you feel comfortable. He never seemed "rushed" in conversations, he explained everything in detail and was incredibly encouraging. He was the person that FINALLY convinced me to get the surgery that I desperately needed and he was very empathetic of my fears. I'm now 3 months post-op and feeling great (I should have never waited so long). I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Long to anyone in need of his expertise. He is, by far, the best doctor that I have ever met in my 50+ years.

This is one exceptional and skilled surgeon. I would highly recommend this man to one and all. He operated on me utilizing minimally invasive surgery even though two other so-called surgeons told me I would have to be cut open to repair two large hernias. Unbelievable as it may sound Dr. Long actually informs the patient concerning the procedure to be done and is willing to spend his time with you before surgery. With most surgeons you are lucky to get a few minutes of their time. Wouldn't recommend or trust anyone but Dr. Long!!!!!!! I'm thankful to him every day of my life!!!
