Dr. Tara Griffin, DMD

Would not recommend Dr. Griffin as a Dentist or Emerald Coast as a Practice. The actual work they do is less than average. The main focus of the practice is upselling cosmetic dentistry. Their promotion of special products, and more costly services is tireless. Most actual dentistry is referred to outside specialists. Their billing is terrible. They are very "creative" with their accounting of procedures and charges. They can't tell you what you are paying for, have paid for, or what you owe and why. This review is based on 6-10 visits over 1 year.

I broke a tooth while in Panama City Beach. Dr. Griffin's office fit me in the same day. Very friendly staff and doctor! She refilled the tooth and I was on my way. Highly recommend!

When she found out we had good insurance, suddenly she wanted to book me for a sleep study. I made it very clear we wanted no charges outside those paid by the insurance (cleaning, x-rays, etc) but her staff performed and billed my son $400 for services that he didn't realize were not covered. I would never recommend anyone to this place.

Dr. Griffin and her office staff was very unprofessional with regard to the charges they attempted to get from me when I agreed to get caps from them. I was a patient of Dr. Griffins for over 13 years until I caught on to their financial impropriety. When I asked to explain why they kept changing the cost they stonewalled me. I was already invested 1500.00 dollars they had my caps and my ex-rays. When I chose to go to another dentist they refused to release the ex-ray for which I had paid.
