Dr Perera is highly professional, doesn’t beat around the bush, and is direct when he thinks a certain medicine is wrong. I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews. I feel listened to and cared for.Cindy G.

Grateful
Dr. Perera and his staffed helped my son heal at a very difficult time in his young life. We will be forever grateful. The TMS care allowed my son to begin healing after years of medicines that in his case only made him sicker. He was available to us and listened to our story. I highly recommend them.

Eighth psychiatrist in my life and by far worst
Unless you have already made the decision that you would like tms or ketamine, please don’t go to this pathetic excuse for a provider. The intake is him asking you to tell him about yourself and then saying uhuh every five seconds to move the conversation along. He is pushy and will tell you you need tms no matter what and if you say no he will then go for ketamine as it makes him less money but still a lot. Follow up lasted less than ten minutes and I did not reschedule. He’s a horrible practitioner.

Never met with me except once for 15 minutes
there was one short visit. Every time I called his secretary she said he was booked. So I saw him once and then never again. I was devastated. He filled my medications and that was it. I did not understand this treatment. I assumed that he had something against me. He simply did not see me.

If you are looking for an incredible place that will take care of you and your mental health, Contemporary Care is the place. Dr. Perera is wonderful. He is incredibly caring and highly educated and effective when prescribing medications. I appreciate that he not only has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to medication but, as importantly, addresses the whole patient and how to improve other aspects of your life that will assist in improving your mental health. In addition, Melissa (who is in charge of the TMS treatments) is so incredibly lovely and encouraging. Not to mention how wonderful the front desk staff are. No matter who I have dealt with at CC, they have all been beyond kind and helpful. This is how a mental health office should be run.

When I first scheduled my appointment, everything seemed to run smoothly and the staff was able to get me an appointment quickly. The office is very clean and there is plenty of parking. However, meeting with Dr. Perera was just uncomfortable and awkward. I felt like he should have at least made a genuine effort to get to know me, but our interaction was brief and impersonal. I would not return.

I wish people knew the truth about this "psychiatrist". Two sham/money hungry doctors together on tv at once---Oz and Perera. I urge anyone who needs professional, compassionate psychiatric help to go elsewhere. This is ABOUT MONEY.

When I was in the need for an emergency appointment for my son, Nicole his coordinator at the front desk got my son an appointment that day with Dr.Perera. My sons life has changed dramatically since his new treatment plan and Dr. Perera even recommended an amazing therapist for my son who he sees in the same office weekly. I can’t thank the staff at Contemporary Care and Dr. Perera enough for my son’s progress! If you or a loved one need help- this is the practice to go to! Ask for Dr.Perera!

The Dr squeezed me in so I waited about 20 minutes but well worth the wait! He gave me the same attention he gave everyone else and knew exactly what medication I needed and what therapist to pair me with.. I feel much better and like a different person! Usually a wait but I expect it because sometimes in psychiatry people are going to have bad days and need his time more than others. Again while worth any wait time!!

Dr. Perera is the first Psychiatrist that I truly respect and believe in. He really knows what he is doing. Yes, the appt may be behind. Yes, it may be fast (unless you need to address more issues.) But he is so smart and I think he nails what you need very quickly. And quickly can adjust things as necessary. He knows what he is doing. I totally trust him. For myself and my daughter.
