Dr. Taylor Dunphy, MD

I had unbearable pain in my knee and was referred to Newport Orthopedic. The staff was excellent and compassionate. Dr. Dunphy examined my knee and recommended an x-ray and MRI. Within 24hrs, Dr. Dunphy called to tell me that I had a severe tear in my meniscus. He injected my knee with cortisone and I am totally pain-free. I walk for miles every day up and down hills. I was so relieved to find a doctor who did not consider surgery as a first option. I highly recommend Dr. Dunphy. He is professional, knowledgeable, and I feel that any patient is fortunate to have him as a doctor.

Dr Dunphy provided phenomenal care to me when I tore my ACL. I couldn’t believe how quickly I was back to my normal activities. I have very rarely received such expertise combined with such compassion. I’ve sent many friends and family to Dr Dunphy and they all say the same thing.

Dr. Dunphy repaired a full bucket handle tear of my lateral meniscus two years ago. He was quick to see me when I recently was having knee pain to make sure I did not re-injure my knee. I trust him fully and would 100% use him again if needed in the future. Newport Orthopedic is a little hard to get through to on the phone, but that has zero to do with this mans ability. He is a phenomenal surgeon.

Dr. Dunphy’s staff is awful. They don’t return phone calls or just don’t answer. Took 9 phone calls to his scheduler to get the surgery scheduled. My husband had rotator cuff surgery scheduled for months and they cancelled the afternoon before! Said there were abnormalities on an EKG done 5 1/2 weeks ago! Had a physical 4 months ago and everything was normal- never had a heart problem in his life. Insurance deductible was met for the year and he’s living in pain and now surgery will postponed over a month!
