Dr. Terrell John Swanson, MD

I came to the ER to have my magnesium level check and get. Magnesium infusion if low. I have been receiving mag i fusions weekly.. This doctor never came and talked to me before anything was done. Wanted to run a EKG without discussing my levels or anything at all with me. He had never seen me on this visit, and then came in and told me to stop using the ER and take Magnesium supplements. He required a nurse to be there as his witness and told me he was advising me, not telling me. I had been to the Lake Jackson ER a handful of times over the past two years and had never been treated with anything but kindness and professionalism by the staff. Basically his attitude was like a superior human being and I was a using the ER unnecessary. Also, his tech came in and asked for my nephrologist name, I asked why, and she said to update my records. This Dr. called my nephrologist, without my permission and without even talking to me yet. No bedside manner or professionalism.

Horrible experience w/ Dr. Swanson. My brother took me to the ER after having 2 seizures. He & the nurse treated me with extreme hostility, rudeness, and acted like it was a burden I showed up. I couldn't communicate b/c I just had a seizure!!! He didn't know the conditions I have, MPN ET, chronic blood/bone marrow cancer, autonomic dysfunction, & IC. He told me to follow up w/ my neurologist & I said I can't, he won't do anything, that day had telemedicine with neurologist & of course, they did NOTHING. Next day my aunt came over & I had a massive seizure, my breathing slowed extreme, she called 911. I went to TMH & the triage nurse & doctor were amazing. My mom came down to communicate w them (she is a nurse). Turns out I'm having dystonic seizures, blood flow not reaching my brain, & the doctor at TMH knew what POTS/dys is. Put tourniquets on my arms & I woke up, gave me saline iv which calmed my heart, listened intently, did the proper poor man's tilt table test. Avoid CRMC.
