Dr. Thao Huynh, MD

I’ve had chest pain and shortness of breath and she said I had anxiety. She wanted me to see a therapist. Come to find out - after asking for an angiogram multiple times - I had a 75% blockage in the heart. Mind you, she said the angiogram is too expensive and that I shouldn’t get one. I later had open heart surgery done. This could have been taken care of sooner but she was very negligent. Luckily, I recovered and doing fine. Years later, I’m having extreme leg pain and unable to walk. I went to the ER and they took X-rays and an ultrasound of my leg. Dr. Huynh said there’s nothing wrong and sent me home - with no meds or nothing to help alleviate my pain. Five days later and still in pain and unable to walk, she gives me a video call and says that she will order labs and an MRI. I go to radiology to see if I can schedule the appointment and I find out she has yet to order the MRI. Definitely not a doctor that has your best interest at heart. Run far and fast away from Dr. Thao Huynh!

I have had Dr Huynh as my primary care provider for many years. She is very responsive to emails and is usually available for an appointment pretty quickly. She does seem to follow general guidelines (tried and true methods) for treatment, which sometimes means waiting it out a bit. But she will go in-depth if initial treatments do not help. It is helpful to build a rapport with her because she seems to remember her patients well. Very smart and driven. Caring.

Dr Huynh seems rushed and too busy to listen to my concerns about a health condition I have. I suffer from vertigo, needed time off work to recover and she wouldn't write me a doctors note. I guess she thinks its ok for some dizzy to be driving. I have had this problem for years, but she wont send me to a specialist; she just diagnoses me over the phone and emails me a useless info sheet. Dr Huynh is the worst doctor I have ever had.

I needed a doctor unexpectedly and could not access my doctor quickly, since it was an accident. The advice nurse recommended an appointment with Dr. Huynh. She was professional, attentive, and friendly. Asked questions and gave good instructions how to proceed until I could see the next referred doctor. I left feeling I had been taken care of. Considered her as a possible doctor if ever I chose to move my care to south Sacramento.
