Glad she's gone
I had seen Dr. Karplus several times in the past few years and at first I was generally happy with her. But over the years she seemed less and less interested. The last two times she barely listened to me and seemed to have her own agenda. When I called to request changing docs I was told she had retired. Not soon enough!

Saw Dr Karplus twice. Once as a new transfer patient from Maine when she ordered new testing for her files to begin treatment and then the second time to say my back scans didn’t support my previous Maine diagnosis (missing or overlooking my kidney disease, and elevated uric acid, blood pressure, and several other comorbidity issues). My thought was she had no idea what she was doing and sought out someone more competent. I’m happy to have left her office and found a wonderful doctor.

Dismissive, abrupt, lacking basic compassion. I went in hopeful that she could help explain my symptoms and left in tears.

have been going to her for approximately 4 years and the last 3 visits she was very disinterested in any of my pain or trying to help relieve it without narcotics. She was only interested in the COVID vaccine. The items that I needed help with were not even addressed, when I didn't want to talk about who in my family has had COVID shots. I will not go back, I am sure that my insurance will be charged 280.00 for her to NOT treat me for the issue that I went for. the lack of care is not worth the waste of time.

Took my son to see her after he had a back injury which after imaging turned out to possibly be an autoimmune disorder. Incidentally, he had sprained his a kke two days before being hospitalized with intractable back pain. When I tried to explain how the ankle was not his issue as he had sprained it, she literally talked over me and proceeded to have a sample taken from his ankle joint. To get the sample she took us to a other roo. For another doctor to do the US a d obtain the sample where we sat for more than 2 hours. After the sample was attempted (only had a few mL in the joint) the other doctor went to have her come talk to us, well she had already left for the day!!!. At his next visit she insisted his ankle was Reactive Arthritis and told him it was not work related. He attempted to talk about his back, the when reason for being hospitalized, a d she said it was coincidental. Now workers comp is trying to deny his claim because of her. She doesn't listen and dictates his care

Felt disrespected and she had no compassion. I felt dismissed. I had seen Dr. Karplus several years ago for cortisone injections and it was simple and went fine. Very disappointed yesterday and will never see her again. She did smile the whole time but little interest in my pain issues. I am not someone who goes to the doctor often. Maybe once a year. I am a 73 year old female.
