Great “Bedside Manner”
Dr. Carter genuinely cares about his patients, taking the time to listen and to really explain what is going on in your body. He is well rounded and open minded. My husband and I have been patients of his for as long as he has been practicing at Scripps and we were sorry to see him leave!

Awful
Probably the worst experience with a PCP.He did not even look at me but sent a newly graduated doctor. Then he showed up and got upset because I was trying to make sense of my symptoms and his poor suggestions.Never again.

I waited several months for an annual physical with Dr Carter. He only checked my heart rate and listened to my breathing. He did not examine any part of my body. When I told him of a problem with my ears, he did not even look inside them, but dismissed my concern.. Went I told him of frequent urination, he told me to drink less water. In all prior physicals with other doctors (about 30), the doctors examined my stomach, prostrate, reflexes, eyes, nose, throat, etc. This physical was a joke!

After being misdiagnosed by my previous primary care provider, along with numerous other doctors who were treating me for my symptom of back pain, I was referred to Dr. Carter who properly diagnosed a heart problem that was treated with triple bypass. No other doctor in several years of going to numerous providers made the connection between my symptoms and the actual root cause. I would very likely be dead by now if I hadn't gone to Dr. Carter. God Bless Him!
