Dr. Thomas Helton, MD

Dr. Helton has been my PCP for more than 15 years. Always trusted him, his diagnosis, and his recommendations. Lately though, I've had problems with a couple of his office staff so I've decided to look for another PCP instead of having to deal with these people.

Was just very rudely told that we could not return to his practice for care since our medical records had been transferred to another primary doc. I asked if we could be re-established as a new patient and was told that allowing patients back was against his policy

I visited Dr. Helton last October, having just relocated from the west coast ....retired old man. An appointment with him was easy. His staff nurse was meticulously personable and knowledgeable. Follow to request refills of my prescription is easy. Dr. Helton is very interactive with me. He is knowledgeable and easy to discuss my medical conditions with. Also, last night, an emergency call was made to his office. He was the doctor on call. Fortunate me! He listened carefully to my description of issues I had. he then recommended some OTC medications for in-home treatment of my conditions. His solution was perfect and I am able to move my bowel and urinate freely again. That is the type of doctor I would recommend to anyone.

Dr Helton takes time to listen to his patient. He cares and will do everything he can to help his patients! I have recommended him to many.

Since 2002 my family of 6 has been going to see Dr. Helton. Everything from free wrestling physicals for Oakland high school to Intensive care at St Thomas Rutherford. He is surrounded by a fantastic office staff. Working with him are PAs and NPs who provide excellent clinical care. He is very busy so I would call about a month ahead to schedule your annual physical. In my 30 years as a hospital Adminstrator, you won’t find a better family physician in Murfreesboro.

Very nice person, listens to the patient, and is very reasonable.
