Great doctor
Dr. Malvitz is great. He explains everything so I can understand him. He is a very caring doctor and his staff is fantastic. He has a great sense of humor and a pleasure to be with. He has now done both knees and I recommend him to as many people as possible. I never have to wait long for an appointment and the office personnel is informative and very courteous.

Initial appt re. knee pain
I was very impressed with Dr. Malvitz. He shared my x-rays with me and explained everything in terms I could understand. I appreciated his honesty and sense of humor, also. I would definitely return to see him if the need arises in the future, and I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Malvitz always takes the time to fully explain things. I have been seeing him since 2000 or so and would highly recommend him. He replaced my right hip and continues to meet all my expectations.

UPDATE10 Months post op: unable to stand with legs straight and both feet parallel to each other because of the leg length difference created as a result of the surgery. You can see a visible tilt in my pelvis when I do try to stand with my legs straight and my feet parallel to each other. It creates pain, it's awkward and unbalanced.Basically my right leg is now a pogo stick because of the length being added.By the end of the day I have pain shooting the length of my right side back, hip, and shoulders. My femur bone aches from hip to knee, on the front side of right leg, probably because the doctor made it too long!4 Months post op. Surgery Jan 4, 2024.Dr. Malvitz and Waterson both agreed, while I was in surgery, to add width to my right hip & length to my leg. I woke up from surgery with a longer right leg and a wider right hip. The arthritis pain was gone, but the tade off for a potentially permanent disfigurement and awkward gait hasn't alleviated any of the mobility

Dr Mslvitz was very open and easy to talk to . He explained my knee replacement appeared to be a bit loose but I have a ligament problem right now causing side to side movement and recommended therapy. I appreciate he did not push surgery .

Very helpful visit.
Dr Malvitz was the seventh doctor I saw for severe leg pain. He was the only one that explained it, told me my options and told me what he would do. I was surprised that he advised against hip replacement, which had been suggested. I start PT on Monday.

Knee replacement
He and his PA, Ken Waterson, were careful to explain the process in detail. I was surprised at the amount of pain post surgery, no fault of any medical personnel.

THIS MAN SAVED MY LIFE!!!
Dr. Malvitz and I first met in 1995. He masterfully rebuilt my pelvis from near mush after a traumatic car accident. 29 years later the area of the repair is looking as good as it did all those years ago. He is a true artist! Because of his intervention I went on to have a very meaningful and full lifestyle. I am able to take part in my beautiful daughter's active life. My subsequent training in medicine has resulted in the eradication of disease and prevention of morbidity and even mortality of my patients. He is at least partially responsible for every great thing that I have ever accomplished. Without a hip, i wouldn't have been able to do any of itI would trust him with ANYONE!! YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A MORE CAPABLE AND LEARNED ORTHOPOD!

Refreshing experience.
Dr Malvitz took the time to listen to my concerns and showed me his reasoning for his suggested solution. He did not push towards anything but allowed me to make my choice. Thank you Dr Malvitz for that.

A dr that listens
Do to mergers, retirements, etc I found myself without a hip dr. I saw another one in town and he was not interested at all in listening or hearing the history on my hip. I had little hope this would appointment would be any different. I was so surprised when he sat down and asked for the history, took notes, went through my X-rays in detail with me and genuinely listened to what I had to say and explained the issue I’ve had the last 17 years. It was such a relief to have someone listen to me.

Right hip replacement
I had my left hip done in Iowa about 10 years ago and that doctor did a great job! Worried about my left hip replacement my regular doctor set me up with Dr. Malvitz. On my first appointment I learned that Dr. Malvitz knee the Doctor in Iowa and that put me very much at ease. Dr. Malvitz treated me with respect from my first all the way through the surgery and my 6 week check up yesterday. My hip is feeling much better and I would recommend Dr. Malvitz to anyone that is a little nervous about the surgery and you will be in great hands! I can’t say anything bad about the entire surgery process’ Thank you Dr. Malvitz!
