My elderly mother was admitted to the hospital after strong diuretic treatment at a nursing home for a misdiagnosed heart condition resulted in kidney failure with high blood sodium among other symptoms. The nursing home had originally mistakenly diagnosed her with congestive heart failure which a subsequent visit to a cardiologist showed was a misdiagnosis. Dr. Moran was assigned as her hospitalist during her stay at the hospital. He showed little concern for her and was rude, argumentative, and condescending when I spoke to him. His only recommendation was to put her in hospice. He did not explain why this was necessary other than that she was very old. She died at the nursing home a few days after her discharge from the hospital. Since her kidney failure was not regarded as end-stage, I still have no idea what the actual cause of death was.

Dr. Moran was rude, arrogant, and threatening. He didn't listen to my specialist, was defiant and defensive when I questioned him based on my health history, and got in my face to threaten me that he had sicker patients to deal with and I was wasting his time. If Dr. Moran is assigned as your doctor via Lee Health/Healthpark request a change immediately.

I fired him.....no bed side manner, incompetent, and no compassion. He does not represent Lee Health and all their values in serving the needs of patients.

Dr.Moran has NO bedside manner. I had gone to the ER had some test done he was incompetent to answer my questions. People are afraid when they are at the ER, that’s why it’s so important to have a good bedside manner. If I ever had another encounter with him I would definitely see a different doctor at the ER. What this doctor needs for Christmas is a course on bedside manner.??

Was the "hospitalist" for a recent hospitalization for a severe kidney. He was beyond incompetent. Didn't or couldn't read the medical echart which noted the antibiotic that wasn't effective prior to admission and was VERY hesitate to consult with the consulting urologist, who was on target. Dr. Moran was partial to discharging me on an routine antibiotic prior to reading the results of my urinalysis. Had to finally DEMAND that he consult with the urologist. AVOID this DO at all costs

I was taken to the Emergency Room at Health Park Hospital with extreme vertigo. Dr. Moran was assigned to me and admitted me to the hospital. He was an excellent physician and I consider his advice and medical diagnosis as very thorough and well thought out. He has an excellent bedside manner and is most empathetic. I would certainly recommend him to anyone wanting a good diagnostician.
