Dr. Prater of Mattax, Neu, and Prater
We have been seeing Dr. Prater for several years. His office and staff are superb! Each person is professional, pleasant, and top notch. It was refreshing to see staff without blue hair, nose rings, and tacky looking tattoos....and yes, I have observed that in our hospitals and clinics. While navigating through the system, you are escorted to where you need to go next, called by name and made to feel as if you matter. Having recently been in the surgery suite, I can assure you that each nurse, tech, and CRNA that I met treated me as if I was family. The front desk workers, the surgery scheduler, and the pre-op staff are excellent, as well. Dr. Prater's knowledge, talent, and expertise can't be beat!

Excells At His Position To Say The Least!
This cataract removal operation turned out to be a very pleasant procedure. Dr Prater really knows the process obviously. I did not even know he had started to remove the cataract when he announced to me that he was finished! It could have not taken more than 15 minutes and I was being wheeled to the door. I highly recommend Dr Prater and the entire staff to anyone looking for an experienced capable eye clinic to do this procedure.

He cares
Very likeable. He and his staff go to Mt. Grove to confer with patients. He was not in a hurry, he asked me about my eyes and answered my questions. I very much appreciated not having to drive to Springfield for the initial meeting.

Truly Amazing Doctor!!!
I was legally blind. My vision was considered "count fingers" without glasses or contacts. For those who don't know, that means that my vision was so bad, it wasn't even on the 20/20 scale. From the moment I woke up in the morning, to the minute I went to sleep, I wore contacts. I would not be able to function, or even see ten feet in front of me without those contacts. I've been wearing glasses since middle school. I'd been thinking about LASIK eye surgery for many years but never followed through, until last month after talking about it with a coworker. I scheduled a free consultation at Mattax Neu Prater to see if I was a candidate for LASIK and the experience was so good, I scheduled my surgery date for about a month later. The staff was so friendly and thorough, the process was very efficient, and Dr. Prater was extremely confident with my potential. Well, my LASIK surgery was last Friday. During the procedure, Dr. Prater talked me through each step for maximum comfort and reassu

Yearly Checkup
Dr Prater’s office is organized, clean and the staff is very efficient and caring. Dr Prater has an excellent “bedside manner”, he explains what he is doing and why. He follows through and keeps my Primary Care Dr up to speed on my results. He also did procedures on both of my wife's eyes which were very successful with no drama. I highly recommend DrPrater and his establishment.
