Dr Ruane and his staff are a great choice for Urology in Southwest FL. He is competent, good explainer of your condition, offering options, all calmly, considerate, expert and compassionate. Appropriate urinary exams and tests were run to best understand the options. I had a TURP after discussing the alternative options pros and cons. Dr Ruane is an excellent surgeon. with lots of experience . I would recommend Dr. Ruane without reservation

After several visits due to blood in my urine I had a cystoscopy in the office by Dr. Ruane. I have anxiety and was concerned that I could do this, and I was pretty nervous. Dr. Ruane made me feel safe and comfortable. The procedure was only 10 minutes (after prep) and I could watch on a monitor. He explained everything to me very well. I would definitely recommend Dr.Ruane.

They are not big on returning phone calls. Dr. Ruane operated on me several weeks ago, still having pain and none of medical staff will return calls. Unprofessional.

This has been unbelievable. After a ridiculous amount of time, I finally reached a live person at Dr. Ruane's office in January. She instructed me to have my husband's medical records sent to them before she would schedule his appointment. His primary care physician sent those records to Dr. Ruane's office OVER A MONTH AGO. Since then, Dr. Ruane's office NEVER answers its telephone and NEVER returns telephone voice mail messages. My husband has a significant kidney stone issue that must be treated very soon. Dr. Ruane's office has shown little regard for patients and I am shocked at the unprofessionalism.

He's a good doctor. No complaints about him. His office is inefficient. If you call you go thru an answering company. I left a message that I need to speak to the office several times. The doctor's staff never calls back.

Went to him yearly with urinary issues. Never did a PSA. Moved from Englewood and immediately started with a new urologist. First visit he did a PSA and I am now diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer at 55 years old! This should of been caught earlier. Simple blood test. Now I have to fight for my life.

Dr. Ruane treated me for prostate cancer with robotic surgery. My outcome is outstanding. Dr. Ruane is an excellent surgeon and a very compassionate doctor and human being. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ruane is an excellent physician. He literally saved my life by finding a cancer that 2 other Urologists had missed. He has a great bedside manner, is compassionate and takes time to address any and all concerns. He also is a very skilled surgeon. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

Dr. Ruane’s care and attention to detail is the best I have experienced. I would highly recommend him as I had a successful green laser surgery 14wks ago. I have had a couple of follow-up visits and all that he had explained has happened as he predicted. I had a few doctors misdiagnose my problem in the past but Dr. Ruane was spot on. Not only does he have a genuinely nice personality his professionalism is first rate.

I am proud to offer that Dr. Ruane saved my life. Some five years ago now I was found to have Bladder Cancer, after a visit to my local hospital. I will spare you the details. Following a recommendation to Dr. Ruane by my primary care physician I was quickly diagnosed by Dr., who confirmed earlier findings and I was admitted to hospital for the requisite surgical procedure. Dr. Ruane put a ureter stent in my father, and he was in severe pain. It took him 2 weeks to remove the stone, leaving my fathers in pain. A relatively short time later, my father had another stone, and he did the same thing, even though he knew my father could not tolerate the stent. He then left for vacation and we could not get the stent removed for 2 weeks. My 91 yr old father was in agony, went to the emergency room 3 times before they admitted him. He never recovered from the experienc

$30k of testing and he could not find a kidney stone that the emergency room doc found in 30 min.

Dr Ruane saved my life after a botched colon surgery by another surgeon and saw me at least once a day in the hospital following and explaining my progress. Later when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer he took the time to explain all the options available in terms I could understand.
