Dr. Thor Svendsen, MD

I’ve been his patient since 2008! Honestly words can’t describe his dedication to making you feel heard. I’ve been a roller coaster of a patient, evolving as I’ve had three children under his care, and numerous health issues regarding pelvic floor pain, IC and hemorrhaging during my second pregnancy. To this day I feel like he saved my son’s life at birth, and kept me from losing my second son and kept me alive during my 3rd c-section! I’m about to have a hysterectomy with Bohmer and Svendson and know all will be well with him in the room! The best obgyn!! It will be a sad day when he retires.

Dr. Svendsen is the salt of the earth! Not only is he knowledgeable, but he truly listens to his patients, which I feel like is such a rare characteristic for doctors to have these days because they’re always in a rush. He writes down every little detail you share with him and never dismisses any questions. He’s the best doctor I’ve ever had.

Dr. Svendsen is the best of the best. Aside from being exceptionally intelligent, detail-oriented and thorough - it is his kindness and sincere concern for your wellbeing that sets him apart. I trust him implicitly. He helped me navigate every aspect of my pregnancy and put me at ease through otherwise scary situations (e.g. gestational hypertension). He took the time to explain everything and discuss the best course of action in each scenario. I feel so blessed that he was my doctor throughout the process and would recommend him to anyone.

I could not say enough great things about Dr. Svendson. If anyone would every ask me what doctor I know who is a hero - it would be him. I had a high risk pregnancy with twins and he was with me every step of the way. Easing my concerns, advising me how to keep them the safest I possibly could. On the day of their birth he stayed with me for over 12 hours and even had the surgery room of 10+ people take a break for an hour so I could rest before trying to give birth to the second. Unheard of, most doctors would have just called for a C-section and been done with it - but he knew I didn't want that so fought for me when I couldn't. He goes over and above for his patients and his experience as a doctor really shows. I am so grateful that there are doctors like him in this world. He is a true blessing and there is no doctor I would trust more with my baby. If I could give him 10 stars, I would.

Where do I start?? He is a very biased doctor who treats his patients based upon their insurance types. And yes, I’ve witnessed these things first hand. He has absolutely no bedside manners and at times can be very rude. He waits days before calling his patient back even after you’ve gone to the ER for OB reasons such as a possible miscarriage at 20 weeks. Even his staff says he horrible with returning patients calls back. His response when he do call back is to make an appointment. I would NEVER recommended this wacky doctor for any expecting mother! ESPECIALLY not a High Risk pregnancy. Beware of this one!!!

Dr. Svendsen is what all doctors should be: kind, caring, attentive, thorough, empathetic, intelligent, considerate, polite... My wife and I left the visit feeling like we were under the care of a guardian angel, who had nothing but her best interests at heart. We felt BLESSED, blessed to have found this wonderful man who made us feel like she was his only patient, and secure knowing he'll be there with us through the coming years to take care of her.

I've been a patient for 18 years. He delivered my son and took excellent care of me. He also discovered a lump that turned out to be cancer. He is the absolute best! I highly recemmend him!

Dr. Svendsen did my emergency c-section a little over a month ago after my water broke and was in labor over 24 hours (he was the physician the next day). He literally came in and saved the day!
