Short, a bit rude, in a hurry
The staff was great, thus the 2 stars. The Dr. gave off bad vibes from the time he walked in. I was with my mother, and he did not want to hear from me at all. Even my mom thought he was rude, unfriendly, in a hurry, and seemed somewhat uncaring.

He is the rudest most hateful person I have ever ran across in my life. Zero tact. Zero compassion. Will not take time to address concerns. Very belittling. Would leave zero stars if that were an option

This man saved my life.
I went in to the ER having a heart attack and Dr. McDermott just happened to be the one there at the time. He got me squared away that night and has taken good care of me since. I'll admit his manner can be short or blunt and he wastes zero time in appointments. On the bright side, he is usually not running as behind as most doctors. I've found him to be very thorough in exams and he has answered all of my questions and responded to all of my concerns, even giving me additional tests for my peace of mind. I'm very happy with him and the entire Mercy staff.

He was pleasant and nice. But when he asked me questions, he would cut me off and ask me another question before I could fully explain. However, he did take notes about the things he did listen to, and he did seem focused on my health, so I'm conflicted. I am not afraid to continue seeing him. And I absolutely LOOOOVED the nurses and attendants that helped me before and after. They nurses were patient, pleasant, and joyful. That really helped with my visit. And the front desk was great.
