Left me hanging
Dr. Olson delivered one of my babies and provided prenatal care. That was all fine. The problem arose postpartum when I had a mental health crisis. Since he had prescribed my antidepressants, I made an appointment with him. I was suicidal and struggling to do anything. I needed help. He scoffed at me for going to him and said I needed to see a mental health provider. He then offered me a bariatric surgery referral, which I had expressed many times I was not interested in. And that had nothing to do with my complaint that day. Not only did he not help me, he harmed me. I was too shocked and busy trying to seek help for myself in the months that followed that I wasn’t able to report him at the time. I wish I had. I still cannot believe how terrible that felt to be suicidal and laughed at and then told to amputate my stomach, a perfectly healthy organ. So disappointing.
