Dr. Timothy Shaver, MD

Dr Shaver spent time providing me with important information to understand the health issue at large. I most certainly appreciate his efforts to educate me about the process and potential surgery involved. He recommended taking an extra step to obtain all the information necessary prior to making a definitive surgery decision and consequently left no stone unturned! I am most grateful for his wisdom, knowledge, and skill in resolving complex and challenging health problems.

I visite him to have his opinion a a scond opinion. A very professional, nice and wonderful person. He spent a lots of time with me, listening and explaining to me my situation. He was very aware of my health issues and had already studied all my information and contacted my primary care physician and my GI specialist to discuss my problem bof we met. His responses and explanations were very direct and vey understandable. He showed indeed that he is a Veteran surgeon who you can trust to re- visit him. Than you Dr Shaver!

Dr. Shaver is an excellent surgeon. My case presented some real complications, and my surgical results were outstanding. During multiple visits in the hospital and one office visit, he remained standing and barely paused to answer my questions, however. I would have liked him to volunteer more information about my condition and prognosis and certainly to have demonstrated patience when addressing my questions. Thankfully, his Physician Assistant, Kaila, was top notch in regularly circling back and answering my questions. She also appropriately referred some of my questions to the doctor--and made sure I received a response. As a team, Dr. Shaver and Kaila offer oustanding care and expertise.

Dr. Shaver is very thorough in his explanation and uses simplified terms so the patients can understand easier.

Very simply, Dr. Shaver saved my life. He was available in Mt Vernon hospital at the same time I arrived with an emergency colon rupture. Because of Dr. Shaver's careful analysis, surgical procedures, and methodical recovery plan, I have been healthy for over a year.

My husband and I would like to thank Dr Shaver and his team for for the care, knowledge and dedication they showed when taking care of my husband Whipple procedure. They made everything easy for my husband to get better, they kept us informed, took care of scheduling and paperwork, followed up appropriately with him and their staff and we just couldn’t ask for a better team of people. I could never express my thanks enough to Dr. Shaver. I had to have a Whipple procedure for my pancreatic cancer. Dr. Shaver was kind and caring and gave me a good layman’s explantion of the procedure and what to expect in the future.

Dr. Shaver did a fantastic job of explaining what the Florida ER CT scan showed and what tests and why they needed to be done to reach an accurate diagnoses and then worked with the other practices (radiology, gastroenterologist) to get the test results . He made a stressful situation a lot easier. Great staff—Candice and Grace are professional and super to work with. I recommend Dr. Shaver and the VSA practice.

Dr. Shaver did a good job of removing the cyst in my liver. Prior to that, I was in some extreme pain. He took the time to explain the procedure to me. He put me at ease in what I consider to be a very stressful and trying time in my life.

I saw Dr. Shaver to have a tumor removed from under my rib cage. He instantly made me feel at ease with the procedure and I trusted his experience. 500 Characters Doesn't Give A Good Platform To Begin Explaining Why I Love This Man !! As A Husband of 29 Years, It's Very Hard to turn You Wife's Overall care over to another Individual. I was faced with this in November 2018 when my Wife was amazingly diagnosed with a choledochal cysts at age 52. Upon meeting Dr. Shaver, Dr. Younan and Assistant Stephanie I felt Very At Ease with their Professionalism and Sincere Care of My Lifetime Love. Long Story Short,,,Surgery and Recovery Excellent !
