My only disappointment is that I was not told ahead of time that my colonoscopy would not be coded as screening. It was not until I received a $2,000 plus bill that I found out his office had coded it so that insurance would not cover it. The only reason apparently was because I had a polyp removed 7 years ago and I had a cousin that was 16 years older than me, who smoked and was overweight his entire life that had colon cancer. People should be told. If I had known that I would have to pay for it I would not have had it done. I will not be back in five years for another colonoscopy- with him or any physician.
