Triple Bypass
Dr. Votapka and his staff were absolutely wonderful with my husband. He was great explaining the procedure and his Nurse Practitioner Michelle was fantastic!! The staff at Good Shepherd was also fabulous!

I had coronary bypass surgery in March 2001 by Dr. Votapka and I was 56 yrs old. I have not had one problem since and I am turning 75 in a month. He had excellent bed side manners as well!

Today marks the 20th anniversary of my bypass surgery so ably performed by Dr. Votapka back in 1998. I now count birthdays off of this date...which means I'm actually only 20 years old today, not 68. I have had 20 years without a single cardiac issue. I could say I was lucky, but luck has little to do with it. It was Dr. Votapka's competence. His words at my final office visit still ring true: "Tony, don't become a 'victim' of your heart disease, go live a full life". I listened to him!

Dr. Timothy V. Votapka, recently placed a Endovascular Stent Graft to treat my Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. My surgery was done at Good Shepherd hospital in Barrington. I felt that he took the time to explain the entire procedure, he worked with me to reschedule my surgery to a earlier date, both him and his staff were very professional and attentive to my needs. Dr. Votapka repaired my mitral valve prolapse. According to Cleveland Clinic he used a ring which was too small, resulting in severe mitral valve stenosis. Because of his incompetence I had numerous miscarriages, and will never be able to have a family. He told me I would adjust to the dizzy spells and my blood pressure would get better. The same hospital where he performed the surgery conveniently couldn't figure out what was wrong. Cleveland Clinic diagnosed and repaired his mistake.

Dr votapka used a mitral valve ring which according to Cleveland clinic was "too small" causing me to have severe mitral valve stenosis. His incompetence cause me to have several miscarriages, inability do much of anything. After his surgery he said my dizziness, low blood pressure and resting heart rate of 55 was normal. I do not recommend him.

Dr Votapka may be the best heart surgeon in the NW Suburban Chicagoland area. I had a serious coronary artery blockage that Dr Votapka repaired. But it is the stories I heard during rehab that made me realize even more what a talented Heart Surgeon he is. Literally, this man walks on water! I never heard anything but words of praise concerning his expertise and demeanor. What a blessing this man is to his profession. I am alive and feeling 30 years younger!
