Outstanding surgeon
I've been going to Doctor Cook for 4 years now. He said when the pain got bad enough I would have back surgery. He was right. I ended up having surgery last October. He spent 5 and a half hours fusing the L2 to the L5. He had to be very careful with the nerves, removing arthritis, and bone spurs. I am no longer in pain and can walk again. Doctor Cook is very professional and courteous and I can't recommend him enough!

Extremely pleased with Dr Cook
Dr. Cook's consultation was excellent; I found his proposed plan highly satisfactory. The office visit was efficient, with minimal wait time. My appointment, scheduled for 9:10 AM, concluded by 9:47 AM. Following the X-ray and consultation, I felt no pressure to rush. This level of service is top tier, very impressive.

I would not go anywhere else.
I have had back issues for a long time. The last time I saw Dr. Cook, in 2022, he did a series of shots and answered every question I had. Today, 2025, he remembered me number one. He explained the new issues with my back and set up some ways that could help rather than run right to a surgical procedure. Sort of a process of elimination. Absolutely, no one in this area would touch my back, but Dr. Cook. He has not changed his way in the last three years. Wonderful experience.

Comprehensive evaluation & results explained well
Was impressed with thoroughness of assessment of my condition, the time spent explaining the findings and informing me of testing that needed to be done to determine treatment options. Dr Cook was pleasant, easy to talk to and empathetic

Outstanding Care from Dr. Cook
I had spinal fusion surgery in Charleston, SC, 18 months ago. After moving to Myrtle Beach, I was fine for six months, but after that my pain gradually returned and worsened over the past year. I initially saw Dr. Cook based on recommendations, mainly to continue my follow-ups locally instead of traveling to Charleston. From my first visit, Dr. Cook took the time to listen to my concerns and offered possible explanations before ordering imaging. After two CT scans and an MRI, his suspicions were correct—he also identified a pars defect that no other doctor or radiologist had previously noticed. Now, as we discuss revision surgery to address my improperly healed fusion, I feel completely confident in Dr. Cook. He strikes the perfect balance of expertise and compassion, making me feel heard and cared for every step of the way. Highly recommend!

Dr. Todd Cook Back Surgeon Review
I highly recommend Dr. Cook, his staff, and OrthoSC for back surgery. Dr. Cook’s team operated on my back in October, 2024. The operation was scheduled to take 4 hrs, but wound up taking 7 hrs due to a bone spur hitting my spinal cord. Also a Neurologist had to be called in to assist in the surgery. Dr. Cook made that call, and it was the right call. I would recommend OrthoSC, Dr. Cook, and Wachamaw Hospital, where the surgery was performed. I am progressing faster in my healing. I attribute that to the great job on my back that Dr. Cook did. I could not recommend him more highly. I would rate him as 10 on the scale of 1-5.

Well, I was seeing doctor cook and he seemed to be up most perfect doctor. But after two operations on my back My life is miserable. It's not better. And I'm depressed. And my life is out of control. Do you think he cares do you think his office cares? No. Seems like all they wanted was the money. And then when it was all over. And I needed to see him again. They wanted to charge me $450 for an office visit. And I would not even let me talk to dr. Cook. So my experience with him. By far as my healing. And getting better is a 0. Plain and simple

My experience with Dr. Cook has been terrific. I had neck surgery to correct a previous neck surgery with another “surgeon”, and Dr. Cook did an excellent job. He listened, explained everything well, and was very attentive to my health needs. I am extremely pleased with Dr. Cook, and highly recommend him to anyone that may need his services. Thank you, Dr. Cook!

An awesome surgeon and an even more caring physician. He went so far over and above what was necessary-more than any other doctor-after my husband developed other health issues unrelated to his c-spine surgery. The BEST doctor we have found in S.C.

My husband had several visits with Dr. Cook for spine pain after a fall. X-rays were taken twice, but he failed to find that my husband has a compression fracture. Had him go to physical therapy, and was going to have him get pain blocker injections. At that time, my husband had a CT through his ENT physician, who found the fracture. 2 1/2 months of severe pain, and now my husband ha to start over with another spine doctor.
