Does not return phone calls
He could be a good doctor but his admin skills/staff are horrendous. As such, I do not think I could trust him. As well, this failure to return calls just leaves patients suffering. I get it, you do not want new patients- just say so on your voicemail. I left several messages on his voicemail seeking to make an appointment. Some flaky person did call me back once like ten days later- and he basically says "you called a while back so we assume your found what you needed, good luck to you." Totally bizarre and unprofessional. Messages left on the voicemail of a mental health provider should be returned in a prompt and professional manner. Again I say- do you wonder why we have a mental crisis in America? It is because the profession is not up to the task! Cannot even return phone calls.

Doesn’t Return Calls or Emails
His practice must be full because he doesn’t have time to return messages. Rude and unreliable.

I came to see Dr. Cox after an unpleasant experience with another DC psychiatrist. I couldn't be happier that I made the decision to leave my previous mental health provider. Dr. Cox is so easy to speak with. I really enjoyed my time with him. I felt he listened to me completely, and actually cared about what I had to say. Fantastic doctor!

Dr. Cox is an outstanding psychiatrist. He is very knowledgeable in his field which is no surprise considering -- in addition to his private practice -- he teaches at Georgetown & Johns Hopkins. He is an excellent clinician, very easy to talk to, a good listener, explains things very well, and is just an all around nice guy. I would absolutely recommend him to family or friends without hesitation.
