Best Pain Specialist in the area
I have been coming to Carolina Pain for several years, and I am so grateful at each and every visit. I have never had a bad experience at Carolina Pain Physicians. My appt was this morning. TT and Alexis at the front desk are so kind and professional. Both were awesome! Wendy was my medical assistant and she was amazing! Super kind and knowledgeable. She didn't rush me. She asked about changes and as I told her, she listened. She listened and was empathetic and I appreciated her so much. Then I saw Dr. Owens.Dr. Owens is awesome. He listens and isn't judgmental or dismissive. He is attentive, and explains things so I understand. I feel supported and cared about. He is very helpful.I saw Dr. Gardener last time, and he is also amazing. He's caring, informative and doesn't make you feel rushed. He is also very kind and explains things so I can understand. If you are in pain, you'll be well taken care of here.

Don’t waste your time ! 1 star is generous
My first visit like everyone else was with Dr Owens. After that I was seen by the PAs asked to talk to the doctor. They said I could not to gaslight you in thinking you don’t need medication I’ve had 3 fusions They lied about my records, so I suggest you bring your doctors record with you. The PAs are very hostel after my second or third visit, they mistakenly published their personal notes. Most likely entered them in the wrong way, I was able to read them, even though I had my husband, there, always bring a caretaker they put in quotations “ legal “ because the last Pain Management doctor was insistent on constantly giving me epidural. I called my insurance company and turned the doctor in for that. They prescribed medication that it’s Time released, however, told me to take her off. Am I Pharmacy was confused by that, because at the time release medication, Suboxone, from the beginning, change my medication with out, and this is very important an evaluation and is against SC code

Not professional
You never get to see the actual Doctor. My sister only saw PA and they were always accusing her of not needing any drugs for pain. I guess they have not looked at her charts with all of the hardware that she has in her body.

Double appointment Billing
Two weeks ago I had an appointment for a injection. Had to see the PA and had to come back later that day. The injection didn't help and made another appointment for a injection. Got there and had to see the PA again before I could get an appointment for a injection. Just walked out. They are getting 2 office visits for one injection. A repeat patient uses to get a injection with one visit. I had repeated appointments without seeing the PA.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Owens from almost the beginning of his practice. He has the BEST bedside manner! He’s always given me his undivided attention for however long I needed to talk. Super kind and laid back. He just wants me to have a better quality of life and never gives up in his troubleshooting my unique challenges. His nurses & staff are always outstanding! Current PA’s are good as well. A former PA hadn’t seemed to have the same qualities as Dr Owens, and he & I butted heads pretty bad so I wasn’t sad to see him leave. Current PA Abby is my personal fave. She’s a straight shooter, kind of brief & to the point but caring and she remembers details of our previous conversations which means a lot to me. My biggest issues by far have been fighting against the insurance company because they don’t want to provide me with what Dr Owens feels like would be my best avenue of treatment. Dr Owens & his staff fight against the insurance company to do what’s in my best interest.

Miserable. Awful. I have been through some kind of CNS pain and it took months to get a referral (no one can explain how). By the time I got an appointment, I was not in pain and I told them so. He prescribed a very low dose Loritab (two a day for six days). The pain returned - it lasted four days - and now I am crawling out of my skin. I cannot get them to help me through two damn days until my next appointment. Anyone who reviews my history knows I am not a junkie. I have never even been to a

I struggled with what to leave as far as stars. I’ve been going here for about 6 months and I’m ready to see a new dr. Dr. Owens is pretty amazing but the PAs not so much. I’m in excrutiating pain right now just over the last 1-2 months my pain has gotten worse so I asked for help with it until I finish my procedures with my back well the PA wanted to give nerve meds that I’ve tried and had really bad effects. I get there is an opioid epidemic or whatever but some of us aren’t lying.

I went to Dr. Owens in 2014 with chronic back and neck pain. He is very good. Explains things well, I ended up with a spinal cord stimulator in 2015 And though it works very good. I still need some medicine. So I continued to see Dr. Owens. Until a month ago when nurse cratchit Aka Abby. Dr. Owens PA decided to change my medicine. And bring me to tears. I left the office and I'm no longer a patient. They don't even let you speak to dr. Owens, I tried. I would not recommend this practice.
