Dr. Tanya Stephenson helped my migraine problems more than any other Dr. I would highly recommend her.

I saw Dr. Tonya Marie Ditrapani Stephenson about a month ago to get a second opinion on an MS diagnosis. Before she came in the room I heard her say to someone, “I can’t believe she got an MS diagnosis. Ridiculous.” She then bursts in the room asking me what the problem was. I discussed my symptoms in detail, which I typed and provided her a copy of. When I told her my main symptoms were weakness in my left leg, tremor and pain and she ignored me completely and said so what your main symptom is fatigue? She condescendingly asked me where my cane was today if I needed it. When she pulled out and extended the affected leg it was shaking tremendously and she said that it looked okay to her. I couldn’t even outstretch it fully. I have been vomiting . When I asked questions about the basic myelin protein in my CSF and she said, “that could be caused by anything.” No. That is telling you that I have a demylenating condition of the CNS. Taken together with the lesions from my MRI you should be concerned as a neurologist and looking for solutions. All she concluded was it’s not MS and I should definitely not start the medications. I asked for any other ideas and she simply replied, “I don’t know, HIV.” Literally all she cared about was proving to me that I don’t have MS. I have since seen several other neurologists and am being referred to the Cleveland clinic for a final diagnosis of MS or NMO (a much more serious demylenating disease). She disregarded all other medical possibilities on my case by simply saying it’s not MS and mocking me. She made me feel stupid for even coming to the neurologist.

Listens and explains things carefully so you understand. I would feel comfortable recommending her to anyone.

Very rushed appointment. I did not feel listened to at all. I’m dealing with a brain injury and was told to push through my symptoms “your head won’t fall off”. Also was given medication without any follow up. Had a bad reaction to the meds and was unable to get ahold of her or her staff.

Dr. Ditrapani Stephenson is beyond knowledgeable; she is brilliant in her chosen field. She is personable and engaging in our conversations. I am beyond pleased!
