Beyond awful experience
Went to urgent care in tears for a 3 day migraine. Doc came in, looked at me and said I had shingles. He also said the patient right before me had shingles also. Though I had no blisters, open sores, no history, and no symptoms he continued say I had shingles. He didn’t even do any type of exam. Refused to acknowledge my current migraine or history of migraines, he prescribed valacyclovir, ondansetron, and prednisone, and when I told him I was confused about this and questioned the shingles diagnosis a third time he said “if you want me to cal it a migraine fine you’ve got a migraine” After speaking to the manager of the location, I left feeling unheard and was still dealing with an excruciating migraine. I ended up going to the ER after the visit and was confirmed to NOT have shingles. Bloodwork was done. I received a migraine cocktail. And I was referred to a neurologist. Trenton was by far the worst doctor I’ve ever encountered.

HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND. I scheduled a virtual visit through CareNow Urgent Care to go over my urine culture results and my prescribed antibiotics in detail. I was diagnosed with UTI. I needed guidance on my questions, especially when I felt some small flank pain but nothing excruciating. I've taken nitrofurantoin before and although my bladder and uterus felt well, I felt some discomfort at my kidneys and was afraid I may potentially have a kidney infection. I wasnt sure how the antibiotics would help me if I've taken it before me and just wanted reassurance as I was paranoid. The guy just told me "here at urgent care we did what we could. If you really have other problems, you should go to ER." I came prepared with my questions and I just wanted to ask them, but he kept talking over me to cut the call short. If I happen to see this guy again, I'm gonna have a long talk with him. The least he could have done was refer me to a urologist. Unprofessional and unqualified to be a doctor.

Appalling experience with the actual “doctor”, Trenton Knewston. He provided a “diagnoses” based strictly on opinion based on 2-3 of my 6-7 symptoms and used his own experience, as well as his sisters, to compare it to. He refused to do an actual test to backup his diagnosis of the flu “Type A”. Continued to tell me “there’s no way to test for the flu and get an accurate result since you don’t have a fever”. Then proceeds to tell me that being light headed is caused by the body not producing enough blood. Also, not how that works. If I stopped producing blood I’d be dead - not light headed. My resting heart rate was so high and my blood pressure so low that he should have recommended a trip to the hospital. He dismissed me and prescribed ondansetron. Turns out, I had THE FLU. Found out from a qualified practitioner later. This man needs his license revoked.

His bedside manner is atrocious and unprofessional. I recently had to make a trip to urgent care because I had excruciating pain in my jaw. His only assessment was to examine my ear. When I began to cry because of the pain his response was "if I wanted to cry, I needed to go to the ER". This "doctor" should be avoided if possible. I have worked in the healthcare system for many years and I was not properly assessed. He is on the road to a malpractice lawsuit.

Looked at the documentation from his nurse before coming in but the walls were seemingly quite thin and could overhear him discussing my issues in a derogatory manner. He then came into the exam room, talked down to me and did not appear to believe my symptoms or what another provider seemed to think was causing the issues. Did not physically exam nor did he seem willing to do anything that would help identify the issue. Basically indicated that for some of the issues I was experiencing, there was no need for an X-Ray despite another provider's order/recommendation. Overall, he was friendly once I told him I did not appreciate the manner in which he was talking 'at' me and explained that I wanted to figure out what is causing this pain. Explained that I wasn't wanting more medication like he was assuming. I wanted a second opinion, not more medication. He would've had made things more positive if he hadn't charged in the room, guns blazing; not letting me talk or ask questions.

After experiencing an reaction to Mango with resultant rash eyes and face, Went to urgent care center in Kona, there I was referred to Dr. Knewtson. I was advised he could care for me "if I was not too complicated a patient". Keeping this in mind, I returned there for follow-up care. This doctor is very smiley and respectful. He is very pleasant and wants to help. I was prescribed medicine that clearly was not correct. This was a surprise, then prescribed it again. I am looking for new doctor.
