Follow up on visit.
about what I expected. verified findings of my hospital visit…I have lowBP which may cause my dizziness. You suggested I should see a neurologist as my condition could be brain related to a previous episode a number of years ago. No reference or suggestions where made regarding a neurologist. Other than what was noted, keep doing your routine and take it easy and we will see you in a couple of months. PK.

NOT RECOMMEND
Impersonal. Never greeted me by name. Cursory exam. Not curious re current condition or past ailments. No follow up on recent surgery and other tests conducted from fall. Got impression he does not like to touch people, which is strange from a doctor. displayed basically no interest in my physical condition. No conversation re prior ailments.

Very kind and attentive. Asks what seem to be the correct questions. Seems to actually care. My only concern is the haste to be done with the appointment; I feel I have to rush thru my ailments and this shouldn't be how a doctors visit goes. Overall though, Dr. Murphy is good.

In my experience, Tyler Murphy is a wonderful physician--well trained (Mich Med School), conversant with current medical science, and warm and caring. He's also accessible, on-time, and appointments never feel rushed. Moreover, my wife and I appreciate that he's not one to push needless drugs (but does urge healthy nutrition and lifestyle).

His physicals consist of asking questions and running lab tests. In speaking with him about my concerns about the quality of my care he became very defensive. Not what I would expect from a professional And someone that I have been seeing for more than 15 years! Also be careful if you need medications of any kind. He parcels them outOn a weekly basis thereby causing me to incur several co-pays. When I asked about this as well, he let me know that it was his decision as to whether or not he Keeps a patient. Thankfully we live in a great community with many options when it comes to Quality medical care So as a patient , I also can make choices. He has a marked resistance to prescribing necessary medications and not everything can be fixed with yoga and meditation. Got fed up enough that I now have a new physician. What a difference, it’s great to be with someone who is both compassionate and thorough. Had forgotten what it felt like.

I don't know why he became a doctor. types away, no no interest, one size fits all and the same material has to be gone over again each time. His appointments are 'beat the clock'

Super physician. Listens, questions, records, recommends. Pushes to restore health, not just treat symptoms. I arrive early and almost always am taken in early. Staff is exceptionally friendly and professional.

I never felt comfortable with his care. At an appointment there was never conversation about a concern or issue as he just focused on a computer screen typing away. He never treated me for any concerns but rather just ordered more lab tests or referred me to a specialist. My impression for several years of his care was that he focused on one issue only which for me was my hypothyroidism...he would tweak my dose up and down but in that I'd been on 1 dose for 50+ yrs, after lots of tweaking and lab tests, my dose has not changed. My Priority Health policy covers a yearly physical but his assistant kept saying that there was no yearly physical. (I checked with Priority Health and yes, I was covered for one). Never in 6+ yrs of him being my primary physician did I have to remove even one article of clothing nor did he touch me. I found that I was not alone in this characterization of care. It was time to find a physician who actually listened and treated no just referred.

My husband sees Dr. Murphy for his check ups. He had a nodule on his prostrate and Dr. Murphy recommended a specialist. We feel that he is very concerned about our health and always asked if we have any questions after he has done the examination. Nothing but respect for Dr. Murphy.

I’ve gone from uncontrolled blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes to controlled blood pressure and diabetes. In the process I’ve also lost 50 pounds of body weight. I think he does a excellent job of communicating and listening when you take the time to make that happen by contributing to the dialogue. He is a big believer in lifestyle changes. If you think pills alone will solve your issues he might not be your doctor. I would highly recommend him.

Having seen T Murphy several times I realized he didn't really "hear" me. He seemed to get stuck on one aspect of my health and avoided the rest. I'd leave the exam room and go to the desk for my appoinment results/precscriptions, etc;. I'd get home and read what was typed on my paperwork. It stated that he spoke with me about things he never did and that I was doing well following his advice/suggestions. I'd say "WHAT !!!! We never spoke about that stuff!" He is detached.

Quite impersonal and I always felt like he didn't hear anything I said to him as he sat the whole visit, with his back to me typing on his laptop. In the years as his patient, I only removed my socks & shoes. I was somehow dx'd as type II diabetic even though my A1C results were consistently below 6.0. I was sent to many specialists. I never got a full physical, general lab tests once a year and listened to my lungs and carotid.
