Seen him for over a year and was in pain the whole time. Kept represcribing the same low dose pain medication that wasn't helping. Don't upset him he will refuse to help you. Never had a doctor refuse to treat me. Find someone else

He might be a very good Dr. Being frank or blunt is nice. You still need a balance of a decenr bedside manner

Worst Doctor I've Ever Seen
I saw this doctor for two different conditions. The first condition could not be diagnosed by Dr. Soares. Then told me that I would have to live at a minimum pain level of a 3 each day of my life. He said he could recommend a 'great program' at another hospital system that my insurance doesn't cover to help me cope with the pain. About a month later, a CHI physical therapist was able to diagnose the condition and I am now treated and have very minimal pain. The second condition I was being seen for was chronic migraine headaches treated with injections every 3 months. My first visit went just fine as they had for the past 5 years. But at the second visit, Dr. Soares pushed on an injection site in my eyebrow and the medication migrated into my eyelid. This caused my eyelid to droop. And of course, he admitted no wrongdoing throughout the entire situation. At another appointment that I was running late for I was told to come anyway (45 min drive), he left without me being seen.

In the business to make money
Dr Soares had told me that I had to have back surgery to relieve the pain. I didn’t feel comfortable with it so I went to another doctor who had worked with him. He told me that there many options available before surgery would be done. The last appointment I had with him I told him what I had done to relieve the pain and I found out that even with this dosage it wasn’t effective. In turn of finding a different approach to the pain he treated me like a child and lowered the dosage of the pain medication.

Doesn’t care about his patients
He didn’t even ask me about my medical history our first meeting. He assumed I was just there for meds and told me I wasn’t getting them from him. I have 5 herniated disks. He referred me to a therapist like that’s going to help my back pain. He spent all of 5 minutes with me.

Pain Management
I am treated with kindness from checking in, his nurse and Dr Soares. I am listened to and not dismissed for pain issues. They are super helpful for trying to solve/ helpful with techniques. He does not just prescribe pills. I would recommend Dr. Soares to anyone with a pain issue.

Got right in, Nurse was great, Dr Soares was very understanding, First time any doctor every sad me down to tell what`s wrong and what my body was doing, Most of it I didn`t want to here, Did Not prescribe any medicine for me was on Hydromorphone and Fentanyl so you people leaving reviews I just don`t understand unless your hooked on it, Think about what a better life there will be out there for you.

I used to have a lot of respect for Dr. Soares. He has seen my entire family as we all have chronic pain issues. However, since he has switched practices and no longer takes Medicaid, he's left his patients in a lurch as the physician that absorbed his practice legally can't take anymore patients. My mother is 75 years old with debilitating pain and has been on narcotics for pain control FOR YEARS. Because she can't find a pain doctor to take her, she will be out of medication very soon. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. In addition, I can't get a call back from Dr. Soares regarding this issue. I can't believe that any physician in good conscience could do this to their patients. And the nurse told me today that they have received numerous calls from patients like my mom. Giving 35 days notice is NOT adequate. I'm glad that he chose money over my mother's well being. He has now lost me as a patient. I'd rather suffer than support a doctor like that.

He accused me of refusing to take ua I couldn't pee. I asked for water They didn't give me any. They did some swab test instead. He wouldn't give me my meds. He went against be my PCP orders about gabapentin. He wanted to raise my dose even though she said no I'm lucky my old pain dr is taking me back. This Soares should not be around people.

When you see him for the first time he has you take a drug test to see ALL the medications you may be taking. I tested positive for THC after spending some time in Colorado. He has treated me like a drug seeking individual when all I want is the pain in my back and legs to be gone. He talked down to me when I did not know all of the dates of my procedures off the top of my head. I would not go back to him. I know there are more compassionate doctors in Omaha to help and serve you. I don't think he cares if he helps a patient or not. He gets paid just the same.

Over 45 minutite wait time, abrupt, doesn't allow you to finish a sentence. Assumes because of who previous Dr. was that currently over medicated, and ingores test results to fit his opinion.

If you have any issue with having an appointment but you will be expected to sit around and wait for an hour because this doctor and his staff have no respect for your time at all do not go to this doctor. You are held hostage as you have to see the doctor to get your meds but you will have to sit around and wait until they think you have been sitting and wasting your time long enough.

Dr. Soares and staff are kind, patient, and listen to everything I say. He asks me how my life is going and how I am functioning with everyday tasks. He makes minor changes with recommendations and to medication based on what I say. As a pain sufferer, I appreciate his professional opinion on ANYTHING I could possibly do to decrease the pain level. I consider the goal of pain management and a program to find a lifestyle and medical balance that allows you to perform everyday functions.

I will never recommend this Dr to anyone!! Waied 35 minutes past my appt time, then another 10-15 minutes after visiting with the nurse, Then finally the Dr and when he comes in...he’s in a rush, excuse me!! I paid for a new patient visit and don’t get hardly any time with the Dr at all? Then he is so rude, wouldn’t let me discuss how I got to the point of where I was at and then we didn’t even get to talk about the main reason I was there to see him. Why become a Dr, if he doesn’t care???

A little back story...my husband is a recovering cancer survivor but since they have removed the tumors from his brain he is significant pain ever day and it has to be controlled with pain management. We had a great doctor but he is no longer in practice. We were recommended to go to Dr. Soares and that was a huge mistake!! We didn’t even make it through the apt before we left. He was completely rude to us, talked over us and treated us terribly. I would not let this man treat my dog!
