Dr. Urenna Acholonu, MD

I was referred to Dr. Acholonu who helped me addrress an issue that i considered an emergency (which my primary physician wasn't doing due diligance to address). Dr. A took immediate action to get me the referral and proper treatment that i needed. Im eternally grateful. She has a supportive and action-oriented and bedside manner.

Dr. Acholonu was easy to talk to, took the time to listen, and during her examination explained what to expect which was reassuring. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a gyn.

My previous OBGYN had retired so I found Dr.Acholonu. She has such a bright presence and immediately makes you feel welcome. She took her time to listen to my whole story and was very patient and understanding. She took her time to explain all the options and made sure that I was comfortable with any steps we took. She is very knowledgeable and personable.

One of my best experiences at a doctors office. Front office staffers are courteous and efficient. Dr. Acholonu saw me on time, and had awesome bedside manner. 10 out of 10…highly recommend.

I’m shocked by all these positive reviews. She’s the only provider I’ve ever “fired.” She was incredibly rude to nurses, spoke down to me, raised her voice at me, and tried to pit my husband and I against each other. She’s one of the worst doctors I’ve ever interacted with and I’ve never felt less respected in a high stress situation (delivering my child). I can’t say enough bad things about this provider and the “care” she “tried” to give me. If I could give zero stars I would. This person should not be a doctor.

Dr. Acholonu delivered my first child, who had a shoulder dystocia, and it was a calm and supportive experience when it easily could have felt like an emergency. She’s very personable, knowledgeable, and professional.

Dr. Acholonu was patient, kind and welcoming. She encouraged me to take steps towards maintaining my overall health and was receptive to my concerns. I asked for a particular test to be completed and she completed it and she respected (she ran the test) my concern without reproach.

Dr. Acholonu was the provider I saw most frequently during my pregnancy and I was happy that she was there for delivery. She is kind, calm, direct, and knowledgeable. I was looking for an affirming Black provider and I’m so happy I found her!

Friendly doctor with excellent bedside manner. Always listens patiently and always makes me feel comfortable when I visit. Does not try to “sell” additional unnecessary tests or procedures like many other doctors do. I highly recommend her!

She was polite, gentle, & professional. She gave me an opportunity to ask questions & provided knowledgable answers. She expressed a general interest in me & my health. Brief, efficient visit, but I didn't feel rushed.
