Dr. Valerie Altmann, MD

Funny how my review of this woman was taken down, shortly after my son was born in December 19, 2022 .. this woman is extremely unprofessional, lacks empathy and is rude. She told me, a 9mo pregnant woman at the time that suffered greatly from White Coat Syndrome, that I was either going to “seize, stroke or DIE” because my BP would be high when in her office, meanwhile at home-NORMAL every time I checked it. I understand that it’s the doctors concern to make sure the baby delivers healthy and that I too, remain healthy.. however, this woman can use a redo when it comes to how to speak and treat her patients. I wouldn’t return to her if I wS paid to! Shame on you!

ZERO STARS My recent visit to Dr. Altmann, a gynecologist, left me dissatisfied. Despite a 8-hour wait, the consultation lasted only a minute. As an experienced nurse, I sought a collaborative discussion about my recurring health issue, but Dr. Altmann displayed a lack of interest, interrupting and dismissing my insights. The brief interaction did not allow for a thorough discussion of my concerns, raising questions about the overall quality of care. Additionally, the prolonged wait, while acknowledging the unpredictability of medical schedules, raised concerns about clinic efficiency. What was most disheartening was the complete absence of empathy during the session. Dr. Altmann failed to provide this, creating an environment that felt cold and indifferent. The experience fell short of the respect and professionalism every patient deserves. I hope this feedback prompts improvements in patient care and communication within the clinic.

I have been a patient of this practice since it was built 30 years ago. I have been Dr. Altmann's patient for over 20 years and have always felt I was in the best hands. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, patient and sincere. I always get a return call in a timely manner and my needs are addressed.She always makes me feel comfortable, respected and answers any questions I may have. The staff is also terrific and caring.

She's so easy to talk to, blunt, and to the point. She's also very thorough. As someone who has a bunch of medical conditions, it's reassuring that she goes through my other doctor notes as we're talking during my appointment. I always come with questions that I have and she takes her time answering all questions. If there's anything that she's not sure about or that I forgot to ask her, I'll email her through the patient portal and she gets back to me within 1-2 days depending on if she's doing hospital rounds or not. Best OBGYN I've ever had. She's also extremely compassionate. I had a difficult recovery after my episiotomy and she cried with me after I shared my hospital experience with her (I had a scare but everything was OK). She's just a wonderful person.

My entire experience with Dr.Altmann was HORRIBLE. From the beginning I felt off about her but thought ok it’s the first visit and maybe it’ll get better with time and once she gets to know me. Nope! If anything, it became worse. She was never informative about anything, she always made me feel stupid about asking questions and this was my first pregnancy and I’m not the one who’s a board certified gynecologist but for someone who is, I’d say she’s pretty rude and doesn’t seem to know much herself since she shrugs off questions. She always rushed me out of her office yet I’ve witnessed her take her time with others or just greet them better.

Great, professional and extremely caring doctors. Dr. Altman took great care of me during and after 2 pregnancies, and I couldn’t ask for a better service.

I am going to admit I take some responsibility in this. I was late and she couldn’t see me for yesterday’s appointment which I understood but the clinic should have made it clear that they were going to close due to the snow. People came even after 4:00 PM. What got me upset was that she didn’t explain one of my test results thoroughly and I was very concerned about my wellbeing. She had her nurse come out and explain to me what the result meant. I understand if you are in a rush, but I would not want this professional to deliver my child. No explanation, seemed rushed, and uninterested in someone’s wellbeing.

I received an update on my patient portal on a friday night at 8 p.m. in regards to a positive HPV test. I wasnt exactly sure how to read the results they were very unclear so i called the aftercare line because I was panicking. I already have severe anxiety and needed any doctor or nurse to confirm the findings for me. Upon her callback, Dr. Altmann was so annoyed by my call. She even said to me "I was in surgery and was notified for this?!" She literally screamed at me. I was so devastated.

I've been coming to this practice for 20 years. In the last 5 years the office has gone so downhill. The staff is horrible, rude and incompetent. Dr Altmann's secretary treats people like garbage. As far as Dr Altmann, she is a great Dr, however I will be searching for a new office. It's just not worth it anymore.
