Dr. Mathews is, in a word, phenomenal. Our family has had all manner of total replacement surgeries with him and his wonderful staff at Fondren Orthopedic Group. Dr. Vasillos Mathews continues to be an outstanding model of excellence in his surgical field and in comprehensive patient care. If you want the best of the best (and who doesn’t?!)—Dr. Mathews is the man!

Dr. Mathews did my knee replacement surgery at the end of April. I am super thrilled to be able to walk now. I've not had such a comfortable walk in about 35 years. He is my miracle worker for sure. Thank you all at Fondren & Dr. Mathews office for such a wonderful, deserved experience.

Dr Mathews replaced my right hip in February and will be replacing my left knee in a few weeks. I have absolute trust in him to give me the same high quality of health care I received the first time. He and his staff were very good at explaining my options and the care I would receive. Everyone I came in contact with were very professional and caring.

I was in Houston to see another doctor about my shoulders. I live 3 hours from Houston. Dr. Mathews made time between surgeries to see me about my hip without an appointment. His staff took X-rays, Dr. Mathews explained what I needed, and scheduled me for surgery June 22. He and his staff made the visit very quick and nice. I look forward to getting my new hip.

Nice, short visit. Dr. Mathews knew my medical history and has helped me before. After looking at my xrays that were just made in his office, Dr. Mathews recommended physical therapy for pain I was experiencing in hip muscles. He wrote me a prescription which I will have when I begin physical therapy this coming Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2020.

I had a very positive experience. My surgery went well and I was home the same day. My care was excellent and I was given thorough post op instructions that were easy to follow. I would recommend Fondren and Dr. Mathews to anyone needing orthoepic care.
