Dr. Vernisha Hearn, MD

Dr. Hearn is truly an exceptional primary care doctor, and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She is incredibly thorough, patient, and compassionate in caring for my elderly mother. Unlike many doctors who rush through appointments, Dr. Hearn takes her time, making s that my mom feels heard and well cared for at every visit.Since I live out of state, I often join my mom’s appointments via FaceTime, and Dr. Hearn goes above and beyond to accommodate us. She holds the phone up to my deaf mother, making sure I can help translate when needed, and if she notices my mom is still speaking, she brings the FaceTime back to me so no detail is missed. This level of attentiveness and care is rare, and it means the world to our family.Beyond her kindness, Dr. Hearn is incredibly thorough with follow-ups. She stays on top of my mom’s labs, tests, and messages, always keeping us informed and proactive about her health. It is clear that she doesn’t just treat her patients—she truly cares

The entire office staff is polite and professional. Dr. Hearn is patient and attentive. She listens and she responds whether in person or electronically.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hearn’s for the past four years ; in that time I had one major surgery and an accident that left me with two fractured elbows .. Dr. Hearn has been wonderful in coordinating my care, Dr. Hearn is a very thorough doctor. She listens to you. She takes time when she’s examining you and she gives good advice on how to improve your health. She has very good bedside manner. I never feel like she’s my appointment and if you have to reach out to her, she responds right away she give you educational material to understand your condition. She is excellent and managing my care. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a wonderful primary care physician.

After you visit Dr. Hearn, she can only be reached through her messaging system. And while you can leave all the typed messages and voice messages you want, she does NOT respond. My pharmacy tried to phone her for two weeks with a question about a prescription she wrote. I messaged her through her service four times in that two-week period, and she still never responded. She finally responded to the pharmacy after I accidentally sent my last message to a different office, and they forwarded it and asked her to respond. She wrote me a referral on my last visit, but never faxed it to the referred doctor. I can't set up an appointment until she does. If you need blood work done, the phlebotomist is the WORST. You WILL be stuck a minimum of twice or at least four painful times like I was. I have two other family members who used to go to Dr. Hearn but now go elsewhere due to the terrifyingly poor skills of the phlebotomist AND Dr. Hearn's complete lack of interest in her patients.
