Dr. Victor Bernet, MD

Highly effective communicator with the patient and family. Dr Bernet has had years of experience with assessments and treatment of Thyroid disorders. He actively informs his practice & participates widely in the USA and worldwide in the latest research studies. He shared his knowledge with me as his patient and makes sure that current testing is reviewed and medication dosages are appropriate for optimum patient’s performance and healthy living.

Dr. Bernet’s nurse relayed his message on a Friday that the doctor had reviewed my records and that he had everything he needed to do a biopsy the following Monday. I drove two hours to Mayo on Monday only to be told that I needed to undergo an additional procedure before he could perform the biopsy. He was defensive and bullying about his failure to adequately review my records, and refused to give an order so that I could receive ongoing care locally. Dr. Bernet is neither professional nor compassionate.

Absolutely horrendous patient experience and I question Dr Bernet’s integrity. Some three months after undergoing a full battery of blood tests I have yet to receive the results from the Dr. I have placed numerous calls to his office requesting the findings and received no less than three assurances that he had the results and would be calling me. Never happened. When I informed his secretary that I had an appointment with the urologist that had referred me to Dr Bernet the next day and that I would be complaining about Dr Bernet I was assured yet again that he would call me. Nothing. The following morning approximately 5 minutes before my urologist appointment I received a written message from the secretary that he had talked to my urologist personally about the tests and that the urologist would discuss the findings with me since Dr Bernet did not feel qualified to make observations. (!!) When I showed the message to the urologist he swore he had NEVER talked to Bernet about me.

Dr. Bernet is great. He is very skilled, knowledgeable, and confident but not afraid to ask others for their opinion. He knows when to be professional and when to joke around. All around, great doctor.
