QUACK!!!
I went to 'Dr.' Honrubia almost 2 years ago to have a sore that wouldn't heal cauterized in my left nostril. There is absolutely nothing good to say about this excuse for a doctor. Instead of cauterizing the sore, he talked me into ballon sinuplasty on both nostrils. I agreed because, years before, a doctor said my left nostril was abnormaly narrow and recommended surgery which I declined. I knew there was a problem with 'Dr.' Honrubia as soon as I walked into an over flowing waiting room. Honrubia is a money grubber who is barely competent and who does not care one bit about his patients other than the money he can squeeze out of them or their insurance. His staff, having learned from their master, are equally disinterested in patients. Honrubia does not have an 'Institute' or eve a clinic. He has an assembly line geared toward maximization of income. His license should be revoked.

Very Poor Office staff support
Was attended by the PA and balloon synuplasty was recommended. My appointment was set up a month later. A day before the apointment, I called and called and called until 'the nurse' finally returned my call only to tell me the procedure was not approved by my insurance. I called the insurance and it was a back and forth with the clinic. Insurance company wanted more information, clinic said they sent it Long story short, i had no help so I ended up going to another provider where I received more personal attention.

Needs better bedside manner
Dr. Honrubia is very skilled at what he does, but his attitude and tone is very 'I'm better than you' and it's unnecessary and rude. I've always been kind and polite to him, but he would be sarcastic and rude to me with his little comments. It's not that hard to just talk. Just talk like a normal person instead of using that pompous tone. Instead of being rude and snarky. He also randomly took a full month off to go to vacation and that just rubbed me the wrong way seeing him with a nice tan while me and other patients had to suffer and wait for him to return.

No follow-up care- Do not use this doctor
No Patient Care after surgery. It started well. Quick service, quick schedule of surgery, Surgery Day seemed flawless. But then no after care. he convinced me to try codeine for pain although 40 years ago I stopped breathing in my sleep. I did not need the painkillers right away. After the first full day of use, I repeatedly stopped breathing. It induces sleep apnea which he knew I had. The pain became so bad, I had to leave Thanksgiving dinner. On Friday I called. They said they were open. The phone just rings. I suffered all weekend. On Monday I asked to see the PA. I was told no, and prescribed a steroid. Two hours after the third day I called to say it does not work. They also know I am no longer on the painkiller. They told me to just keep on taking the steroid which is not working. I could not be seen. I told t hem I would have to go to the ER for care and she said, 'fine.' My eventual appointment was cancelled. The VA is trying to find me emergency care.

Horrible Doctor. I had a surgery with him when I was 15 and he messed up my nose. I can’t breath through one nostril and my nose is very crooked. Stay away from this dr.

I had the balloon sinoplasty and it worsened my condition. I kept going back and all he did was put me on allergy medicine and nasal rinses forever. I didn’t even need that before the surgery. Stay away.

no good DR, he operated on my mother for scare tissue on her vocal cords, because my mother would sometimes get a raspy voice. After surgery I, (son) was waiting for Dr to talk to me, he didn't he just left and would not come back, he didn't answer phone call from hospital to talk to us. his assistant Blake talked to us and said not to worry my mother was in a hospital, IF ANYTHING WENT BAD, the nerve to say that. NOT A GOOD DOCTOR, HAVE BEEN TELLING EVERYONE I CAN NOT TO SEE HIM

I highly recommend Dr. Honrubia and the whole South Texas Sinus Staff. I have been their Patient for over 5 years and now my kids are Patients. I feel like I am part of the Family, I know I can count on Blake Hensler or one of his Nurses to help me at any time. My Balloon Sinuplasty procedure was the BEST decision I ever made. I can breathe, taste and enjoy life- Thank you!

I've been suffering from allergies and sinus problems for many, many years. After many visits with my PCP, I decided to visit Dr. Honrubia and his clinic. I was able to the see the PA, which is very knowledgeable. I am pleased with the outcome of my visit and the professionalism of the staff. I do recommend him and his clinic for allergy and sinus sufferers. I know where to go now when my allergies and sinuses decide to act up.

You will be sold a surgery with unrealistic results. 1 year post-surgery and I feel the same; moreover, my recovery was a bumpy one. It's obvious that every patient is a paycheck and not a human with health needs.

I have been seeing Dr. Honrubia for about ten months and have been treated with nothing but respect and courtesy by him and his staff. I have had two surgeries to correct a severely deviated septum, I am extremely happy with the results! I would recommend to my own family and friends with no hesitation.

Dr. Honrubia's PA told me more in 30 minutes than a certain Dr. did in a year and half, which left me with Barretts disease of the esophicas. My choice and recommendation is Dr. Honrubia!

I've suffered from allergies ever since I can remember. But, after about 30 years of headaches and icky and embarrassing post-nasal drip, The Sinus Institute gave me hope. In fact, I was pretty much guaranteed that my life would change after the balloon sinuplasty procedure. Unfortunately, nearly two years and a couple of thousand dollars later, I am still suffering from chronic sinusitis, AND the added nuance of a stubborn, unidentifiable, foul odor in my sinuses that I can't get rid of.
