Dr. Obias is a very irresponsible person and careless surgeon! if you decide go see him, please ask the statistics of the surgical complications first! He enjoys making speeches about robotic surgeries way more than patient care. I would not recommend him at all.

Had an initial consultation with Dr. Obias regarding elective surgery for diverticulitis. He took as much time as needed to explain the prep, the procedure and recovery. His RN followed up the conversation with an even more detailed review of useful information. I haven't had the procedure yet, so I can't report on the clinical outcome, but was favorably impressed with initial visit.

Dr. Obias saved my life. He treated me for diverticulitis, a perforated colon (from a procedure at another hospital) and by the time I got to the ER, an abscess and raging infection. It took three surgeries -- ostomy, bowel resection & ostomy reversal -- but I'm now in good health, and extremely grateful to Dr. Obias and his team for their skill, time and patience. I was one of those cases where if something could go wrong, it did, but after the first 2 weeks of the 8-month ordeal I did trust Dr. Obias to do what needed to be done. Like a lot of surgeons, he's not a very chatty guy, but he was patient with my questions, complaints and fears. I recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Obias conducted tumor removal surgery from my colon with greatest skill imaginable. He is extremely competent, and very articulate and patient is discussing with me and my medically trained spouse all facets of my tumor and follow up colonoscopy. I came away from my experience with Dr. Obias feeling blessed to have him as a surgeon. His supporting medical staff before and during surgery were outstanding. The DC area is lucky to have Dr. Obias in its medical arena.

I was very fortunate to have Dr. Obias his care for me since September 2016 has been very good. He has always provided the time needed to inform me of my condition and its changes. Kind and courteous and I think he is a very good surgeon. The on call surgeon when paged for an emergency that works on his team calls back in a timely manner to direct you further.

I had a horrible experience with this person. I made three appointments with Dr. Obias and he NEVER even had the decency of meeting with me. He only sent his physician assistant even though i requested him several times and his physician assistant just told me he would discuss my case with him. I was supposed to be his patient and he didn't even show up to the appointments. My condition was not serious but it is still UNETHICAL AND UNPROFESSIONAL to not meet with your patients.
