My experience with Dr. Jeyaretnam was not what I hoped for. When Dr. Jeyaretnam entered the office she failed to make eye contact with me. She continued staring at her computer during my appointment. During an initial visit, it's vital to the doctor and patient relationship that rapport is established. It's difficult to establish rapport when a doctor does not look at you. Furthermore, it makes you feel more like an object and less like a human. I surmised that her behavior could be due to cultural differences. Later when I read my medical chart, Dr. Jeyaretnam had written incorrect information in my medical record. I asked for it to be removed and it was. She had also written other questionable statements in my chart which I questioned. I was certain after reading my chart that I would have to change providers. I did change providers after the first visit but the provider was not accepting new patients until 2024. Therefore, I had to go back to Dr. Jeyaretnam and my experience worsened with her office staff who reflects her attitude towards patient care. This post is to make Dr. Jeyaretnam aware of how she presented herself to me as a patient seeking care. I hope she gets better as she gets more years of experience.
