Her information about my cancer and what would happen prior to surgery was explicit and answered my questions before I could ask them. She went on to describe what happens after surgery and what I should expect. I have never had a more complete understanding of my condition and any repercussions I might encounter. I would recommend Dr. De La Melena to anyone in need of a surgeon for breast cancer.

Dr. de la Melena is a wonderful physician/surgeon. She is personable, caring, and experienced. She explained the ramifications of my personal breast cancer to me, in terms that were easy to understand. She considers herself to have "healing hands," and as she talked, I could feel the love she has for her work. I immediately felt great confidence in Dr. de la Melena and the team that would be handling my case. My experience with each phase of the Oncology team was exceptional. I highly recommend Dr. V. Tammy de la Melena and the Compass Oncology Team.

I wouldn’t recommend this woman if she were the last specialist around. I came to her scared, upset and in pain after developing a breastmilk fistula. She operated on me, hoping for the best outcome. When I woke from surgery, she denied me any pain medication, spoke down to me when I expressed concern over an infection and continued to deny me any sort of compassion or comfort. Over 2 months later, the wound has not closed, I’m still in pain, and I’ve never been followed up on. Disgusting.
