Very unprofessional
I was hospitalized at Texas Health in July 2024. I received a statement from Dr. Patel informing me that I owed $420. I have no recollection of who this doctor is. Due to my injuries, I certainly met my deductible and my insurance company told me that the bill would be covered if he submitted the claim properly. I have contacted him numerous times to settle this, but he refuses to work with me. He's rude, very hard to understand (low voice and heavy accent). I am only asking for very basic information from him in order for my insurance company to pay his bill and he keeps sending me statements. Buddy.....I'm not paying for anything if I can't get a simple itemized billing from you. I'm tired of your generally vague described statements. If I could negative star rate, it would be -5.

Arrogant Liar
Very arrogant and doesn't listen to patient. Overtakes the conversation and very accusatory. It doesn't seem like he even cares. Refuses to accept when fired from care team due to his unprofessional behavior. Very poor bedside manner. Please do not let him be your doctor.

I was admitted to Harris Methodist in 2020. I had recently had a checkup and blood work at my regular doctor's office and was fine but then caught pneumonia. Dr. Patel ran tests on me that I did not authorize. He ordered a no food or fluids by mouth and had his nurse administer a magnesium IV drip twice at 10:30 pm for 2 nights nearly putting me into a coma. Thankfully a nurse unhooked me as soon as I started throwing up each night. This had to be done after Patel's nurse left the floor. I fired him from my care team, which he refused to accept, and a surgeon Patel called to remove my gall bladder had to tell Patel he could not enter my room and that he had to remove himself from my care. The surgeon also stated that I was not a good candidate for gallbladder surgery as there was no sign that I needed it and only a small shadow which proved nothing. When I asked why Patel was doing that the nurse in the room at the time a different one from the one that had unhooked me from the IV stated that he is simply a mean person. I have been through surgeries due to my cancer and I have never heard a nurse speak against a doctor which leads me to believe that this is a truly bad Doctor who should be investigated.

Dr. Patel is pretentious, arrogant, and refuses to listen to patient's concerns. In addition to not washing his hands before examining me in the ICU he had particles of Kleenex stuck to his upper lip after blowing his nose immediately prior to doing a brief physical exam. In his role as hospitalist Dr. Patel visited me twice during my stay. His demeanor was aloof and his attitude toward me and the ICU nurses was pompous.
