Dr. Vivek Mehta, MD

I was diagnosed with a brain mass, and Dr. Mehta served as my surgeon. He is not only an exceptional surgeon who performed the procedure with remarkable skill, but the communication from both his office and himself was exceedingly professional. They consistently went above and beyond to address all of my inquiries and provide assistance as needed. I am highly satisfied with the outcome of the surgery and the treatment I received from Dr. Mehta.

Went to him for a brain injury and he only saw me for a few moments then brushed me off and prescribed some pills that did nothing.

I have suffered a lower back pain and a buttock pain for almost 20 years. After two years of pain management at UCI, I heard about si joint fusion surgery. I sent a email to Hoag Hospital spine center and I got the same day appointment from Kelly. I met Dr. Mehta and he ordered a diagnostic test for si joint injection and I had a surgery in 5 days after I got a big relief from the test. Sonia got the surgery approved in no time. The staff works very efficiently and fast in holiday period(Thanksgiving). I had a surgery on Dec. 6 and I already feel better. Dr. Mehta diagnosed correctly and did not waste anytime. He must have done a great job - I do not have too much pain and I am not taking any pain medication. I would recommend Dr. Mehta and his staff highly.

Dr Mehta was assigned to me by mission hospital. My T-1 had a teardrop break and my c-1 had an arch break. I told Mehta I was a surfer and to please save my mobility. He said “I am not concerned with you surfing”. He fused my c7-t3 twelve degrees forward so my 20lb head was set seriously off balance, he installed excess metal rods that blocked my c6 from moving, he did not put all my muscle fibers or fascia back together and used metal staples not dissolvable stitches which left a terrible scar and separated muscles. I thought my life was over, never surf again, and I would have serious strain forever. No follow up or care about me by Mehta. I questioned him as to why and his answers were disheartening. I found a great surgeon out of UCLA Dr. Lanman who straitened my neck, took the metal out, installed an artificial disk at c5-c6, put my muscle fibers and fascia back together, and smoothly used dissolvable stitches. All my strain is gone and my neck is straight and balanced.

Hands down the best surgeon I've ever met. Dr. Mehta is a fantastic surgeon and was there for me in my time of need. He helped me to regain function of my arm and skillfully got me through two major spine surgeries. If ever find yourself is a situation where your in need of spine or back surgery look no further, Dr. Mehta is the absolute best choice. I would argue the best surgeon in Orange County and likey one of the best in the country. Thank you so much for your help I feel so lucky to have had Dr. Mehta handling my care! His nurse practitioner and all of his staff for that matter were also amazing. Such a great team doing too notch work!

We were referred to highly respected Dr. Mehta to resolve a herniated disk issue. Dr. Mehta was excellent at explaining the condition and the proposed minimally invasive procedure to rectify the condition. He was very personable, his expertise was outstanding, he also identified an additional issue with spinal fluid leakage which he corrected. We had an excellent outcome and are now pain free after two years of suffering. County USC system although needs some work in managing appts.
