Very thorough doctor
Dr Artis is one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen (I’m over 45 and have seen many). She gives you her full attention, asks lots of questions, and tries to provide you with detailed answers. She takes annual physical exams seriously and covers lots of bases. An added bonus is she’s friendly and cheerful.

Unfriendly, unhelpful, difficult to communicate with reception depending on who answers the phone. Given reception was so night and day on the phone, I asked a lot of questions regarding the set up of the office and who handled what because I needed to assess the level of interaction and responsibility the woman answering the phone had as to whether I wanted to go here with my family. As patients we deal with staff more than the doctor sometimes and they are essentially the gate keeper to the doctor. I had hoped to speak to the doctor directly but, she requested I did not call back. Reception can make or break a practice because we are calling when we are sick, hurting, or in need. Doctors aren’t on the other side of the call or even in the office to know what we are met with. Very disappointing experience. It took up days of my time and was extremely unpleasant, for poor reception, a last minute cancelled appointment, and request I didn’t call back. I never even spoke to her.

I called and went online and attempted to make an appointment with Dr. Artis. I have something I am quite concerned about and I need some bloodwork. Her calendar is wide open. However, because I am a new patient, I was given an option almost a month from now for an appointment. Even after I explained that I needed to see the doctor sooner and I could see she has openings, I was told no. I even went to make an appointment online and was declined. She had plenty of open, back to back slots.
