Last year Dr Cortez saved my husband’s life. He explained in great detail the procedures my husband would be facing. He and his great team were very patient with us, calmed our fears as we navigated thru this ordeal. Needless to say my husband came thru with flying colors, although one can say, it was a miracle from God I rest assured that we were in the best hands possible. I recommend Dr Cortez, he is a great surgeon. Thank you to Dr Cortez and his entire Team in making a stressful situation bearable. Thank You!

Dr. Cortez is kind, honest, and straightforward. He is very good at what he does. As busy as he is, he took the time to schedule an appointment so he could answer my questions before surgery instead of just responding to an email. He met with my husband and me when I was in pre-op to go over everything and make sure we didn't have any questions or concerns, even though the assisting surgeon had already seen us. Even though I was very scared about the surgery, he made me feel very secure in my decision to move forward. I had ACDF surgery in July and am recovering well. He did not guarantee that any of my symptoms would be reversed, only that they should not progress after surgery. Well, my hands work MUCH better than they did prior to surgery--I have better strength, they aren't falling asleep like they used to, and my handwriting is so much better. I would never want to have this surgery again, but if I had to I would pick Dr. Cortez for my surgeon every time.

My daughter died under Dr. Cortez's care at Redlands Community Hospital two years ago. She was only 41 years old. I found him to be cold, uncaring, and distant. I would not recommend him to anyone. If my daughter had been re-directed to LLU she might be alive today.
