Emergency Eye Care Excellence
I was referred to Dr. Hershberger at Florida Eye Associates & Health First Medical by my O.D. Dr. Terrance Nieberhaus @Brevard Vision Care after he discovered and diagnosed a significant retinal tear in my left eye one late afternoon that met the criteria of an Eye Medical Emergency. As such, Dr. Hershberger and her staff took me immediately working me in at 8AM the next day (on a Friday) where Dr. Hershberger performed what I consider to be be a Next Level Solution Repair Laser Surgery . I found Dr. Hershberger to be highly professional , pleasant , informative , extremely detail oriented , with a focused successful outcome approach....Everything one would want in an Eye Surgeon. She is clearly an expert in her field of medicine from whom anyone would be fortunate to experience treatment. Congratulations and thank you to Florida Eye Associates and Health First Medical for having excellent physicians like Dr. Hershberger on their respective Teams.

No bed side manner, rushed like cattle.
Asked her a few questions and it was like an inconvenience for her to answer. I was rushed and had to ask the tech what she mentioned my diagnosis was. Apparently did not read my previous visit notes and possible reason I was returning because she went down an entire deferent road to what was going on with my eye. I will continue going there but I will make it mandatory that I DO NOT see her again.

Bad experience
We had an appointment with her on 09/12/23, and was a bad experience. Her approach is not patient centered style of approach, she approaches this as she is the “know it all” in the room. She has attitude with every question we asked and doesn’t really see her patients as humans, but just money makers for her. For all these reasons we changed the doctor. If anyone is a first time, please don’t select Vrinda as your doctor, do what you can to select another doctor, you will be much more cared for.-Thanks

Unpleasant experience
I have never had such an unpleasant experience with a doctor before. I asked her a question twice as I was still confused. She replied me condescendingly that she had already told me twice. The way she talked to me was harsh during the visit. The exam was painful too. I was so uncomfortable with her and so afraid to have her do a retina laser on me. After talking to few friends and did some research, I ended up finding another doctor who is a retina specialist in Viera. I was treated with much more care and comfort. I wish my eye doctor referred me to the retina specialist in Viera at first place.

I wish I had seen these reviews before my visit (based on a referral) as my experience absolutely bears them out. I waited an hour and half past my appointment time which was frustrating in itself. I only saw Dr. Hershberger for a few moments but in that time she delivered a difficult diagnosis that I was not prepared for. There was absolutely no compassion, education, or care in her manner. I don’t know whether to blame her or the absolutely harried working environment that seems to prevail at this office. I left with a lot of confusion, upsetting news, and no recommended course of treatment. I will definitely be seeking alternative care with another doctor.

Unsatisfactory! Unprepared for my appointment, did not have prior records available for guidance regarding progression of problem, arrogantly abusive, argumentative. Hershberger walked out of exam in mid-exam to take a telephone call. Upon her return I requested information about my problem and she became argumentative. I told the doctor "You're Fired", and left the office. Will not see her again. Will not use Melbourne Eye Associates any longer.

My optometrist sent me to her after he did an OCT scan and found macular pucker. She never made eye contact with me, was condescending ("Can you explain your poor vision in the left eye this morning?"; "Here's a grid. Look at it tomorrow. There are the directions. I hope you're a person who reads and follows directions. If not, it's useless."), and clearly had no time for me. She confirmed the macular pucker by looking at the OCT images, did a quick exam, said it could only be fixed by surgery, and said to come back in 4 months for another OCT scan. She had a tech give me a surgery consent form to read later and a brochure. With that she flew out of the room after about all of 5 minutes. She has no bedside manner whatsoever and I would never let her do surgery on me. I have seen 4 other doctors at FL Eye Assoc., have had eye surgery there, and none of them have ever acted like she did. I walked out truly stunned. I've already made an appointment to see someone else.

Not helpful all. I had extreme floaters in one eye that completely blocked my vision. She waived me off and said that there was nothing that her office was willing to do. I was too high risk and she did not provide me with any alternatives. I went to another surgeon out of town and when I returned to her for follow up, she was rude, disrespectful, and made any post op issues sound like they were all my fault. She may be a good doctor, but her bedside manner and lack of compassion for the patient as a person is horrible.

Dr Hershberger was extremely rude and lack of compassion. She burned my cornea during photocoagulaion lazar procedure. It was the most intense burning i had ever felt. When seeking out someone new i then discovered i should have never felt such pain and burning. I have perminate damage to my cornea. Unable to see through the scaring she caused.

Dr. Hershberger is a fantastic doctor. She is excellent at what she does. She repaired a retinal tear in my eye and was very very professional and did an excellent job with the repair. However, this office is a joke. If you have an appointment for 12:30 pm you won't even be seen until at least 30-45 minutes later. it is always a 2-hour visit at this office. While I will see Dr. Hershberger again, I only wish the wait time at the office was better.

I first saw Dr. Hershberger in Jan. 2013 for cataracts. She removed the cataract from my right eye with excellent results. I then developed macular degeneration and have been under her care until the present time. I highly recommend her and her staff.

Fantastic Doctor. Very professional. She went above and beyond for my mom that has macular degeneration in both eyes. Gave us information and feedback on cons of high blood pressure. By the way she has three doctorates! Enough said! Thanks Dr. Hershberger.

if you want a Dr. That finds what you have and what she can do to correct it here she is. Her office is extremely clean and efficient the staff was wonderful and the wait time was no more than 10 min. I also found that she really cares about the outcome of her surgery, that counts. I feel I am in good hands with my eye problem.
