Dr Lampa evaluates patients conditions. I was surprised to read he didn’t want to know about past trauma. That was one of the first things he asks you. Do you know why you are here. Tell me some things from your past that may have brought on your symptoms such as crying, focus is off, fears, anxiety, depression. Does depression run in the family. I am well educated and study medicines. Yet, I didn’t recognize why I was struggling? You can disagree with Dr Lampa, Dont be rude but he will listen to your reasoning. If a Rx is not working for you, you are not made to stay on it for months. He wants to make you as healthy as possible. I am so thankful he is in Lodi. My only issue is the hours of operation need to be updated on web sites and the phone recording should state the office hours.

Can't review the Dr because his office staff are incredibly difficult and don't even pretend to do office work or care about patients. Phones are frequently set to "after hours" recording when the office is supposed to be open. Only for a few hours in the afternoon might you get a human or the office hours machine. Leaving a message does nothing, nobody calls you back. The one time I got a human, she turned me away and said I needed to get a PCP referral. Both my PCP and the referral office said that's not true and even after I asked them to call anyway, they came back and told me to self-refer. It is already incredibly difficult to work up the energy to seek treatment and make phone calls, I wish the office staff understood or cared even a little about how hard it is for some of us to seek treatment and these kinds of barriers are why people don't get the care they need.

I felt rushed and very uncomfortable with him. He used his expertise and qualifications as an excuse to not truly listen, he did not inquire or investigate what I was saying, he showed disinterest in past abuse and trauma as a root cause, he appeared easily manipulated by the patient, he contradicted himself, and he over prescribed meds rather than using a holistic approach.

Best psychiatrist I have ever seen. He’s extremely knowledgeable, personable, patient and kind. I recommend him to anyone who is looking for psychiatric care. Even if you aren’t local to Lodi he’s worth making the drive.

I've had both Psychologists (for therapy) and Psychiatrists (for medications). Dr Lampa is the 2nd Psychiatrist who actually talked to me and listened to me. I've had issues going back to age 3. Right now we're going thru the "trial" stage of various anti-depressants. I have incredibly bad reactions to anti-depressants, similar to a teenager. He went over my history with kindness. I highly recommend Dr Lampa.

Only prescribes medication, said he is too busy for any actual therapy or talking. Seems very conceited, when I mentioned this was only 2nd time with a therapist he quickly interrupted that he's NOT a therapist, a psychiatrist. I'm sure he knew what I meant. When asked about cognitive behavioral therapy, he said sure you can do that if you want. Paid for a few minutes of time and no recommendations of treatment other than an Rx my primary can write.

He seems conceited, unwilling to confer with my psychologist whom I've been seeing for a year. Felt he knew more about the heart meds than my interventional cardiologist. He was sick and exhausted when I saw him, but partly due to the fact that he runs a psychiatric ward also in have already called another Dr. I'ts worth it to change immediately. I'm positive he could care less about me after our meeting. He also has no sense of humor. :(

I have a diagnosis that not many doctors seem to understand. Dr Lampa has a complete grasp of what I need and how to help me manage my condition. I would not be able to function without his help.
