Despite the distance I drove to see Dr. Sacks, she was worth it. I was concerned that I would make this trek and the physician would not be attentive, however, that was not the case at all with Dr. Sacks. She spent time with me, listened and discussed everything. I am in the medical field as well and was so happy I chose to make the drive.

Although Dr. Sachs would prefer that I begin therapy sooner than later, she agreed to wait until my next bone density scan results are in to decide how to proceed, which was my preference.

Dr. Sacks normally feels my neck and didn't this visit. I mentioned the increased problems with swallowing, feeling something on my left side of neck in mid left area when my head is up or down as well as feeling something on the right lower side when neck is down, or turned to the right. In the past Dr. Sacks would feel those areas and have me move my neck. I was more concerned because of the increased hoarseness in my voice during morning or night, raspy voice, huge hair loss that comes out in clumps, and many other symptoms that the doctor is aware of. She agreed with the rheumatologist who ordered the parathyroid nuclear scan + ultrasound. I was surprised these tests weren't ordered last year when I brought up the same symptoms and problems and how my life sucked from the situation then and now. I was the one asking doctors to do tests not doctors suggesting tests to figure out my problems. I know now something was found on my scan and could be another parathyroid adenoma. Par...
