I have always had top notch care with this Doctor.
Dr. Shumate has been my physician for at least 20 years. I have had multiple health problems and have had excellent care under her watch. Her assistants have always been so helpful and friendly, I find a couple of other comments on this site questionable.

Office staff a reflection of the doctor
Dr. Shumates office staff, Jill and her Med assistant are rude. They should not be working with the public. The doctor must not care about her office staff being this way because they have been there for years. I found another doctor because it was such a bad experience.

While Dr. Shumate's level of care is top notch, her office receptionist, is discriminating. I was refused to be seen as a returning patient when I moved back from out of area. The receptionist, Jill is rude and insists that since I saw a doctor with Graybill Medical Group which was in my area, I can no longer come back to their practice even though I now live 5 minutes away. There are no warnings posted and I was never made aware prior to moving that I would be banished from Dr. Shumate's care.

Dr. Shumate has been my Doctor for over 20 years. She has always been caring, knowledgeable, available, and extremely patient with me. When I got very sick about 3 years ago she upped her game even more, which is unbelievable, but true. Her goal is to keep me informed, healthy and out of the hospital. Truly a gift to my family.
